You will join a team of data scientists and data analysts who?are responsible for?building the pricing engine on our pricing platform. We build algorithms that find the optimal combination of prices to achieve multiple targets, given multiple constraints and uncertain future outcomes. As a **Data Scientist -Financial Modeling** **,** you will apply your expertise and skills to develop new pricing logic and algorithms to get more pricing done through our pricing engine as your primary goal. In support of this goal, you will be conducting research and analysis, prototyping solutions, and collaborating with the team.

**Required Qualifications:** ?
+ Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering, data science, computer science or a related field
+ Programming experience with Python and SQL
+ Proven hands-on experience in Financial Modeling
+ Experience with data analysis and problem solving
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with production system change delivery methods and techniques including experience working with the Agile delivery framework, deployment practices, version control and testing practices
+ Knowledge of optimization and prediction model development
+ Experience with Azure analytics solutions

**Primary Responsibilities:**
- Ability to apply modelling techniques to specific therapeutic classes, individual clients and at a macro level for all clients.
- Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure accurate rebate calculations and payments
- Work with other departments to align modelling methodologies across our business.
- Embed forecasting models to predict future trends in drug utilization, costs, and savings.
- Provide insights into market dynamics that impact rebate strategies.
- Continuously improve forecasting accuracy through advanced statistical techniques.
- Design predictive models to anticipate future healthcare trends, patient behavior, and treatment outcomes.
- Utilize machine learning algorithms to enhance model performance.
- Interpret model results to inform strategic decision-making for our organization and our clients.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis using large datasets from various sources (claims data, clinical data, etc.).

- Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.

- Conduct in-depth analysis of different therapeutic classes to inform drug coverage options.
- Understand and evaluate the clinical effectiveness and economic impact of pharmaceutical products.
- Provide recommendations based on evidence-based medicine principles.

**Required Qualifications:**
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across a matrix environment to deliver business goals.

- Understanding of competitive landscape and familiarity with pharmaceuticals or healthcare industry.

- Very good knowledge of at least one data modelling, scripting or statistical language such as R or Python
- Advanced data modelling and data manipulation skills and proficiency in at least SQL and Excel

- Master's, M.B.A., or PhD in a relevant field

As our **Senior Manager- Pharmacy Pricing Financial Modeling** , you will join an established team within OptumRx responsible for managing our network pharmacy pricing guarantees. You will lead a team to provide financial modelling and analytics related to the performance of effective rate pricing guarantees, specific to the Commercial line of business. You will work with internal stakeholders to drive to best outcomes and ensure alignment with our pharmacy contractual obligations.
Within the role, you will build relationships with our partners and stakeholders across many functions, including Network Contracting, Client Contract Management, Finance, Legal and more.
We're looking for someone with a quantitative mindset, a strong aptitude for complex problem solving, industry experience, and well-developed communication and technical skills.

**Primary Responsibilities:**
- Lead a team responsible for managing the performance of effective rate pricing guarantees, within network pharmacies, for Optum's Commercial book of business.
- Ownership of the relevant financial modeling and ensuring ongoing iteration as required, to maintain highest level of efficacy in projections.
- Manage a critical process forming the foundation for pricing modelling and reporting. This involves the maintenance and manipulation of structured data to develop business intelligence tools, track trends, and conduct analyses related to effective rate pharmacy reimbursement.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of contractually required performance reporting, provided externally on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers with a strong focus on DevOps best practices, code quality through rigorous code reviews, and deep expertise in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and related services.
- Oversee the team in developing analysis and scenario modelling related to pharmacy reimbursement and drive iteration of this analysis to drive key business decisions.
- Actively communicate to leadership and relevant stakeholders on emerging risks or trends.
- Actively consult with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure appropriate application of contractual and regulatory obligations.

- PBM, Medicare or Pharma experience
- Experience in Data Quality
