Job Overview:
The Cadence Silicon Solutions Group (SSG) develop leading edge Intellectual Property (IP) for a variety of High-Tech Markets. The Cadence IP solutions allow our Customers to tackle IP-to-SoC development in a system context, enabling them to focus on product differentiation and to reduce time to volume.
This is an opportunity to join a development team designing state-of-the-art DDR memory controllers to be used in a wide range of applications including Datacenter, Edge computing, Automotive, and AI . Cadence is a leading provider of IP solutions for the biggest names in the technology industry .
The Principal Design Engineer will be based in Cork, as part of an experienced Controller IP Team with long established Controller development sites in Europe , US and India.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Architect solutions for the latest DDR controller features and customer requirements.
+ Design RTL in a highly configurable and automated environment.
+ Work in small project teams.
+ Work across disciplines with Design Verification, Support, Delivery, Application Engineers, PHY design team, etc.
+ Utilize Cadence's Design Automation flow and IP development tools.
+ Develop high speed circuits and low power features.
+ Improve quality and efficiency and help refine development process for greater productivity of the team through automation and improved methods.
+ Participate in an engineering team to advance our product.
Job Qualifications:
+ Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related discipline.
+ 10+ years' experience in microelectronics/EDA industry.
+ Experience of Verilog RTL Design essential.
+ Experience of Metric Driven Verification (MDV) essential.
+ Experience of Front-end design tools covering LINT, Synthesis, CDC Analysis essential.
+ Experience of SoC Architecture and Development essential.
+ Experience of Technical Team leadership essential.
+ Excellent oral and written English essential.
+ Self-motivated with excellent planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Additional Skills/ Preferences:
+ Experience of AMBA protocols such as CHI, AXI, AHB & APB preferred.
+ Experience of SystemVerilog for design preferred.
+ Experience of Quality processes, such as ISO-9001 & ISO-26262 preferred.

+ Act as the primary technical interface for customers on schematic capture and PCB front-end flows
+ Collaborate with R&D, Product Engineering and Marketing teams to drive product improvements and increase proliferation of Cadence solutions.
+ Consult and understand the innovative design needs from customers and communicate with internal teams.
+ Conduct technical demos, training sessions and workshops for customers and partners
+ Debug complex schematic design issues, netlisting problems, library inconsistencies and design flows
+ Creating high impact knowledge article content, tool adoption kits and other high-level documents to increase the self-help of customers
+ Establish technical credibility and rapport with the customer and become the go-to expert for all their technical inquiries and support
+ Assume technical leadership roles in small teams as needed.

This position requires technical expertise in developing complex software for embedded, real-time, and multiprocessor systems. You will work closely with Cadence R&D engineering, marketing, partners, and customers.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Develop and test embedded software and reference applications for physical AI applications.
+ Collaborate with software and RTL verification engineers and systems architects.
+ Port and integrate software components and create development SDK for partners and customers.
+ Develop device drivers for Linux and RTOS.
+ Coordinate with partners to integrate 3rd-party components and applications.
+ Automate tasks and improve existing build and test infrastructure.
Job Qualifications:
+ Degree Qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with 4 years experience.
+ Expert C & Python coder.
+ Hands-on experience writing, debugging and testing Linux and RTOS drivers.
+ Hands-on experience in building and modifying embedded Linux distributions.
+ Ability to negotiate requirements and translate them into design and implementation.
+ Experience in porting, linking and debugging embedded software and drivers.
+ Hands-on experience writing low-level software for embedded processors, e.g. Arm.
Preferred:
+ Previous experience in yocto, buildroot or kernel hacking preferred.

Job Overview:
Senior, hands-on Network Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and operating Cadence's global enterprise network across data centres, campus environments, and WAN. This role focuses on delivering secure, highly available connectivity and leading high-impact initiatives with clear, measurable outcomes.
You will bring deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and the ability to lead complex network programmes from design through Day 2 operations, working closely with cross-functional partners across IT and Security
Job Responsibilities:
+ Design and deliver scalable, resilient data centre and campus network solutions using Cisco, Arista, HPE, and Aruba platforms
+ Support WAN operations including internet edge and SD-WAN integrations, ensuring consistent routing and security posture
+ Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; implement preventive changes to reduce incidents and unplanned outages
+ Partner with teams across Data Centre, Storage, Virtualisation, Windows, Unix, Cloud Ops, and Security to provide technical direction and deliver cross-domain initiatives
+ Establish and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and runbooks; ensure designs are supportable and operationally ready
+ Operationalise delivered solutions for Day 2 operations, including monitoring and alerting, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and change/release processes
+ Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders; manage deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across multiple initiatives
Job Qualifications:
+ 12-15 years of experience in enterprise network architecture, design, deployment, and operations (data center, campus, WAN and hybrid cloud).
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Cisco certification required (CCNP preferred; CCIE a strong plus)
+ Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating enterprise networks across data centre, campus, WAN, and hybrid cloud environments
+ Expert knowledge of routing and switching technologies (e.g. BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN) and high-availability designs (MLAG/vPC, LACP)
+ Strong foundation in network security principles, including segmentation, ACLs, firewall integrations, and secure remote access, with experience partnering closely with Security teams
+ Hands-on experience with NAC/AAA solutions, such as Cisco ISE and/or Aruba ClearPass
+ Proven ability to lead complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and incident response, with disciplined change, risk, and lifecycle management practices
+ Experience designing solutions that are operationally ready, including monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and documentation
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear, executive-ready options and recommendations
Additional Skills/Preferences:
+ Experience with SD-WAN design and operations and hybrid connectivity patterns
+ Exposure to Cisco VPN, F5 Load Balancers, or similar technologies
+ Experience with network automation, observability, telemetry, or scripting to improve reliability and reduce MTTR
