Huawei Ireland Research Centre provides cutting-edge technologies and solutions through research and innovation, supporting a wide range of businesses for Huawei at global scale, including its cloud reliability and infrastructure efficiency.

Huawei Ireland Research Centre is seeking a Senior Expert on Cloud Resource Planning to work as a core member of the Global Cloud Resource Operation Centre, and take the lead role in strategizing cloud demand forecasting and capacity planning programs on a global scale.

In this role, you will enable the Huawei Cloud global leadership team to make data-driven investment and strategic decisions by modeling demand growth and capacity utilization for public cloud infrastructure, shaping the process for demand forecasting and capacity planning, and building related tools.

• As a senior expert, lead the effort of process design and optimization for demand forecasting, capacity planning, and equipment re-utilization for global cloud infrastructure, and assist VP-level executives to achieve organizational goals on resource efficiency and cost savings
• With resource efficiency in mind, work closely with technical teams to build a capacity utilization model to make data-driven decisions on planning, capacity expansion and asset retirement
• Identify key inputs for capacity growth model and asset lifecycle value model, and how they interact with each other and affect outputs of such models
• Interpret model outputs and present findings to senior business leaders
• Work with technical and finance teams to quantify the financial impact of different capacity expansion and asset retirement strategies
• Work closely with software development teams to build digital automation tools that apply validated optimal strategies to day-to-day business operations

Requirements

• Familiar with end-to-end process from capacity forecasting to delivery for cloud infrastructure
• 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following domains in cloud infrastructure operations: demand forecasting, capacity planning and expansion, supply chain planning and management, asset lifecycle management
• Comfortable with communicating with technical teams and able to work together to solve business challenges
• Stakeholder management
• Self-driven with track record of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on process design and operation optimization for big enterprises
• Experience on prototyping automation tools for operations
• Work experience in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment
