Full Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Newbridge, Co Kildare (Hybrid)

Contract / Permanent : FTC 12 Months, With further extension

Start date: April 2024

 

 


 

·         It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed for this role has not less than 7 years’ relevant experience. Any other experience levels less than this will not be accepted.

·         It is a desirable, that the Resource proposed hold the following qualifications or equivalents:

Ø  A bachelor’s degree (level 8) in any one of the following: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or other relevant field.

Ø  A recognised Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince II or equivalent

Key Deliverable:

The following non-exhaustive list of Key Deliverables are applicable to this Role.

•          Work with ICT Branch staff and business users across the Department to identify opportunities for improvements in operations, workflows, and processes.

•          Assist in identifying stakeholders and documenting existing systems.

•        Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs.

•         Gather, document, and analyse business needs and requirements.

•          Display excellent critical thinking skills and use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

•          Assist Project Sponsors with the development of business cases.

•          Conduct feasibility studies, producing high level and detailed business models.

•          Translate user requirements and prepare detailed functional specifications.

•          Work with Project Managers and ICT Branch to prepare tender documents.

•          Work with Branch leads to assessing options and identifying critical success factors.

•          Design technical solutions to meet users’ needs.

•      Oversee the development and implementation of solutions, considering the implications of change on the organisation and all the stakeholders.

•          Plan testing of new systems and create user manuals and system documentation.

•     Advise ICT Branch on options for new systems.

•         Identify opportunities for maximising use of existing Build to Share applications available from OGCIO to meet user needs.

• Liaise with management regarding the delivery process and organisational change.

•          Provide and present proposals to management within deadlines agreed.

•      Display excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

•          Display excellent communication skills with an ability to explain complex processes and concepts simply to a non-technical audience.

•          Support colleagues and peers by providing documentation, coaching, on the job training and knowledge sharing.



Requirements

Key Experience/Competencies/Skillsets :

The following Experience/Competencies/Skillsets are applicable to this Role.

•          Leading the review and analysis of the organisation’s business intentions, services, processes, and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements. Proven track record in producing high quality Business Process Maps and Business Requirements Documents.

•          Identifying the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, defining strategies and validating business needs. Conducting feasibility studies, developing business cases, and producing detailed business models.

•          Preparing detailed specifications and overseeing development and implementation of solutions, through the full lifecycle from business analysis, design, implementation, testing and end user support taking into account the implications of change on the organisation and all stakeholders.

•          Working as a Business Analyst in the implementation of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution. Respondents should describe in detail their involvement in defining the business requirements, project planning, design, customisation, testing, implementation, and training for the solution. Include details of the type of CRM solution worked on.

•          Working as a Business Analyst on a digital transformation project for an enterprise level solution

•          Higher marks will be awarded where the example includes migrating from an on premise to cloud-based solution.

• Liaising with management regarding the delivery of process and organisational change
