­­Where you will be working

 

Encyclis Dublin Waste to Energy Facility is located in Dublin 4, on the Poolbeg peninsula.

This fantastic facility has been fully operational since 2017, diverting over 600,000 tonnes of residual waste from landfill every year and providing enough baseload electricity to power over 100,000 homes.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Responsible for the safe operation of ash transfer and loadout equipment.   
  • Loadout fly ash trucks or ash bagging activities and maintain the loadout area. 
  • Assist in the loadout of bottom ash trucks and maintain the loadout area. 
  • Monitor silo tank levels and report inventory to Shift Supervisor. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance as assigned on plant equipment. 
  • Assist in the unloading of fuel oil, lime, carbon, ammonia, bleach, caustic, etc. and maintain the product storage area.  
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties as assigned. 
  • Support all tipping floor activities. 
  • Operate ash and waste ash cranes. 
  • Work alongside all members of the maintenance team to support all planned and breakdown activities. 
  • Support all outage maintenance activities. 
  • Assist operation and maintenance personnel as needed. 
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor or the Maintenance Lead.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions, heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. Must be able to wear a respirator. Must be able to climb and work in heights and other manual labor. 

The noise level in the work environment varies. 

Qualifications

Position Requirements: 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   Leaving Certificate.  Previous experience in the operation of heavy industrial machinery, or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.  Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent English both written and oral.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.  Ability to speak and communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees of the organization. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:   Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:     CSCS cards for Forklift/MEWP would be advantageous. 

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:  Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations. Must be able to work overtime as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays with minimum notice.
