We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to join our growing IT team to help maintain computer hardware and software systems. You will be responsible for installing new programs, managing updates and providing technical support.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Respond to inquiries, troubleshooting requests, and technical issues through various communication channels, including phone, email, chat, and ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems using systematic approaches, investigating issues related to installation, configuration, usage and compatibility.
  • Document processes and steps for recurring issues, contributing to knowledge enhancement within the team and among staff members.
  • Support, manage, optimise and maintain the configuration and installation of Desktops, Laptops and hardware replacements
  • Coordinate desktop/laptop asset recovery and manage spare parts for maintenance, upgrades, and new hires
  • Assessing user needs and recommending technical solutions

Required skills and qualifications 

To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude along with the ability to give clear technical instructions. You should also be familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques and have the following; 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field. (Other qualifications  may be acceptable in some cases if you have a strong background working with technical systems and can show outstanding knowledge).
  • High level of communication skills to be able to communicate highly  technical information to users who aren’t always familiar with software and hardware systems and other technology. 
  • Knowledge of the following would be beneficial but not essential; Professional Google Workspace Administrator, JumpCloud Core Certification, CompTIA A+, Apple Care Mac Technician (ACMT), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)

Location: 

This role will be Monday - Friday on site in our head office in Enniskerry, Wicklow.
