We currently have an opening for a Downstream/Purification Technical Services/Manufacturing Sciences (TS/MS) Bioprocess Scientist position (Scientist-TS/MS or Senior Scientist-TS/MS, depending on experience ) . This is an 8-hr days position based in the Kinsale Biotech TS/MS Lab.

The successful candidate will be required to build deep technical expertise in their area of responsibility (including in-depth knowledge of the science behind the molecule and the process), have a strong working knowledge of the laboratory and/or manufacturing equipment set and control systems, and consistently demonstrate strong data-driven decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. They may also work to ensure that the process is in-control, capable, and compliant and may play a role in implementing new technologies and process improvements in the lab or manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities:
The Scientist/Sr. Scientist will be responsible for tertiary loop technical agenda activities from concept to scale up to tech transfer to manufacturing sites; supporting commercialization of new product pipeline and development of technology to support the biotech evolving platform.  

  • Interpret complex technical challenges and design and execute experiments to implement productivity improvements for monoclonal antibody commercial processes, while maintaining product quality.
  • Work with our commercial manufacturing sites and regulatory functions to implement productivity improvements in Lilly processes.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the science behind Lilly biotech molecules and manufacturing processes.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the laboratory equipment set and control systems and implement new technologies, as required.
  • Work with the development organization to align on platform technologies and leverage learning from across the monoclonal network.
  • Apply general knowledge of statistics for data analysis
  • Generate scientific laboratory reports and technical memorandums, and communicate work and learnings (may include participation at scientific meetings).
  • Understand and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to the authorship and review of regulatory submissions and responses to regulatory agencies.
  • Document and appropriately communicate all aspects of the work and learnings.
  • Provide training and mentorship for new personnel.


Basic Requirements:

  • MSc/PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Analytical Science, Cell Biology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
  • Recent Protein Purification/Downstream experience in a lab or manufacturing-based Scientist role
