Job Description:

Department Description

This position is for the Microchip Discrete Products Group (DPG). The customer base includes Aerospace and Defense corporations using High Reliability solutions. This business unit works with discrete products as well as high power modules, inverters and DC to DC converters designed at our centres of excellence locations which includes industrial/aviation/military and space grade (radiation hardened) devices.

What will you do in this position

As a Product Marketing graduate, you will develop a deep understanding of the customer/market needs in the advertiser/promoter space. You will also work very closely with the manufacturing plants, understanding capacity and product planning.

In this position you will talk to customers and sales partners to develop and refine requirements, whilst ensuring that the products and solutions meet the customer and business goals. You will also be involved in evaluating program constraints and trade-offs, making recommendations of scope and schedule to meet product/program goals. Additionally, you will work with the tactical marketing teams and corporate marketing communication team (Marcom) in the creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns.

Key job responsibilities/duties include:

  • Manage the end-to-end life cycle of the product line from strategic planning to tactical execution including new launches and consolidation.

  • Identify market opportunities, synthesize trends in the Microchip ecosystem, measure product performance, growth, and couple these with insights from customers and partners. You will also be involved in contract negotiations and participate in the development of the global pricing strategy.

  • Support the Business Unit Manager by developing and implementing strategic product and annual business plans targeting markets, industries, and customers.

  • Support Tactical Marketing team inside & outside Field sales/ Reps & Channel Partners where necessary - for new and existing products.

  • Build relationships with lead customers and development partners to develop Microchip’s product roadmap and new products.

  • Pricing and promotion of new products to a worldwide customer base of distribution and OEM accounts.

  • Forecasting and ensuring that the business projections are met.

  • Effectively promote and advertise brands via the Marcom collateral as well as account planning.

  • Develop and deliver documentation such as product specifications, progress reports, proposals, requirement documents and presentations.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing , Engineering, or similar qualification.

  • Background in electronics/electrical systems is preferred.

  • Experience in a high-reliability product development and manufacturing environment is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with product development and product life cycles (PLC).

  • Excellent Problem solving and business analysis experience.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

  • Good organisation, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong time management skills, self-direction, and the desire to excel.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project is an advantage.

  • Experience with Microchip System Tools, International experience, working with distributed teams across multiple time-zones is an advantage.
