Grocery Retail Checkout Manager Job Cork

Teamworx is currently recruiting for a Supermarket Checkout Duty Manager to join the team of a highly successful supermarket group based in Cork. The store is a vibrant and busy store that operates with extremely high standard and has a huge fresh food department with an in-store bakery and butchers. As a Retail Grocery Customer Service/Checkout Manager, you will oversee the management of a well-established team to increase productivity and maximise sales for the store while having the opportunity to develop your retail experience and skills within an award-winning team. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with supermarket or retail grocery experience looking to get exposure in a top-performing supermarket group and work with a large team of staff. 

Our client offers a competitive salary from €35,000 up to €38,000 DOE.

Responsibilities for this Supermarket Retail Checkout Manager Job: 

Overall management of a busy checkout department. Supervision of a team of up to ten people when on duty. Rostering for a team of up to 10 staff plus.Queue management. Ensuring all staff have the tools required to complete their role. Covering the customer service desk by assisting customers with questions/queries. Overseeing the store end of the home delivery service. Staff training and development. Assisting the store manager in other areas of the store if/when required. 

The ideal candidate for this Retail Supermarket Checkout Manager Job: 

Previous experience as a retail manager or checkout manager/supervisor/ senior sales assistant with experience making rosters and processing returns, refunds within a busy retail grocery environment – this is essential.  Must be experienced in using a till/cash register system, refunds policy experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel for reporting Must have strong people management skills. Strong customer service skills essential Must have staff training & development experience. Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
