About the Role:

  • Manages the Real Estate & Infrastructure Funds (REIF) operation in Limerick,
  • Manages and supports REIF business outsourced from other Northern Trust offices – Guernsey and potentially Luxembourg.
  • Plays a key leadership role and contributes to the management, growth, and success of the Irish business.
  • Works closely with the Product and Client Service Delivery Manager lead for REIF and the Head of Alternatives in developing the unit’s strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Oversees, plans, and directs the development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and control of essential business, information, and operations support systems within the REIF business to support growth, support local and corporate objectives, increase capacity, and tighten management processes.
  • Participates in cross-jurisdiction coordination of activities to implement best practices and improve the performance of operations.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients, vendors, relevant regulatory bodies, and relevant third parties e.g. external advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timeliness and quality of deliverables within the team
  • Ensures that the Fund Accounting business is adequately resourced, that the performance management process is followed and that training and development needs are identified and addressed
  • Encourages an environment of employee participation, teamwork, and open communication.
  • Develops unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the division/unit.
  • Ensures adequate systems and controls are in place and in compliance with relevant corporate policies.
  • Acts as senior escalation point of contact for clients
  • Participates in client meetings to explain the bank’s product or service.Consults on effective ways to meet client needs or appropriate method to be used for resolution of an error.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in the resolution of difficult client reporting/accounting problems that are non-routine in nature.
  • Monitors the competitive business climate, technology trends, and government activities in the areas of current and anticipated products and services
  • Provides leadership and guidance to subordinate managers on the planning, organisation, direction, and control of activities

Skills / Experience

  • Post-qualification experience in asenior role within an industry-leading, global financial services organization. Experience in Managing large teams.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to articulate and develop an argument in an environment of assertive executive directors
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving results within agreed time frames.
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with application of regulations.

Knowledge:

  • The challenges to be faced as senior manager operating within a heavily regulated environment
  • The corporate and local laws and regulations that affect this business
