Job Description

The Organisational Development Team at Version 1 are looking for an Instructional Designer. Our mission is to foster a culture of continuous improvement through coaching support, people development and leadership strategy. Your role will enhance the experience of the learners interacting with engagements from the Organisational Development team, such as online immersive learning experiences and digital content. 

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Instructional Designer to join our team. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a key role in designing and developing engaging, learner-centric eLearning content. Your expertise in instructional design, multimedia development, and technical skills will be crucial in creating effective and interactive digital learning experiences. 

You will have an excellent command of spoken English and experience of working closely with both technical and business focused user groups. You will demonstrate an ability to understand and articulate how your work will deliver agreed impact(s). 

Responsibilities: 

  • Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify the target audience’s learning needs. 

  • Design and develop engaging, learner-centred eLearning courses utilising Articulate 360 and other content-authoring tools. 

  • Perform full quality checks and testing of eLearning courses in the Learning Management System (LMS) environment. 

  • Serve as a resource and expert for team initiatives' graphic design and multimedia development. 

  • Translate complex, technical topics into engaging and accessible learning solutions through user interfaces, graphics, illustrations, animations, video, and/or simulations for e-learning courses. 

  • Apply knowledge of adult learning principles and theories to the development of course activities and interactions. 

  • Work with cross-functional team members to ensure success and drive impact across Version 1. 

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, eLearning Design, Education or similar. 

  • Ability to perform a Learning Needs Analysis. 

  • Ability to present complex concepts in simple ways to a variety of audiences. 

  • Ability to utilise adult learning methodologies and apply them to the development of digital learning experiences. 

  • Ability to develop multimedia eLearning experiences with Articulate 360. 

  • Ability to design and create motion graphics videos and video animation. 

  • Experience in multimedia development in audio, video, and/or animation. 

  • Superb attention to detail in creating high-quality learning experiences, following instructional design methodologies 

  • Ability to leverage data analytics to personalize learning experiences and improve learner outcomes. 

  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at various stages simultaneously. 

  • Experience in ensuring that materials are accessible to learners with disabilities, in compliance with accessibility standards like WCAG. 

  • Knowledge of current and emerging tech trends in content creation, specifically AI, and an ability to evaluate and apply new and evolving digital learning technologies, especially those that support adaptive learning. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot eLearning course support issues and independently find resolutions.
