Full Job Description

Within this role you will be responsible for operational, maintenance and troubleshooting support for utilities, facilities, HVAC, & building systems through strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cGMP's.

The successful candidate will be required to work shift which will include days & nights.

Lead-Related Activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing employees and / or outside contractors involved in the operation & maintenance of utilities, facilities, HVAC, & building systems

  • Planning and scheduling maintenance repairs/modifications of facility and process equipment. Tracking, facilitating and ensuring efficient and effective use of maintenance resources to perform preventive and break down maintenance

  • Developing and maintaining team skills/knowledge in safety, quality, shared values and technology to support department objectives.

  • Promoting and ensuring a safe working environment

  • Assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements as related to equipment maintenance functions

  • Investigating and documenting procedural and operational deviations

  • Working closely with Operations, Systems Support, and Qualify functions to ensure Regulatory Compliance and prompt customer service

  • Supporting supervisors in peak load and process activity to ensure maintenance and production activities are met

As a Lead Maintenance Technician, a typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Performing daily operations, maintenance and repairs on utilities, WFI, clean steam, Bulk gases, Bulk Chemicals, Process water generation, Boilers, Chillers, Chemical dosing systems, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, LPHW skids, Waste water Treatment, Biowaste inactivation skids, or other mechanical equipment, in a cGMP environment with minimal supervision

  • Monitoring and interpreting readings on equipment, computer terminals/HMIs, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely

  • Identifying any off-nominal conditions with mechanical & electrical equipment and troubleshooting / problem solving of any operational & maintenance issues

  • Performing daily Work Orders and PMs and efficiently coordinating the workflow and documentation of PMs and WOs.

  • Performing or arranging for repairs, such as complete overhauls, replacement of defective valves, gaskets, or bearings, or fabrication of new parts. Coordinating & supervising of vendor maintenance activities

  • Ensuring safe and efficient hands-on maintenance with strict adherence to SOP's, cGMP's, and quality standards

  • Ensuring a safe work environment is maintained by adhering to Safety Systems, e.g. COHE/LOTO, Permit to work, Method Statements / Risk Assessments

  • Adhering to and remaining current in assigned IOPS plant and department SOPs and required trainings as related to positional and department responsibilities; maintaining an up-to-date training file to ensure compliance

  • Adhering to site standards & programmes (e.g. SCC (Site safety, cleanliness, compliance), 5S)

  • Analyzing problems and taking appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems

  • Following current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and good business practices (G)

To be considered for this opportunity you should be Qualified to National Craft Standard, may substitute additional relevant experience for educational requirement and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations and maintenance of steam pressure systems and other utilities equipment.
