Machinist – Ceramics

To be part of a team building world-class inspection technology products. Machining of materials and components using CNC and manual machines in Machine Shop and/or Ceramics Laboratory.

As a Machinist - Ceramics, you will be responsible for:

  • Programming and operating precision dicing and grinding machines to tolerances down to +/-3µm

  • Having an excellent attention to detail and able to maintain high standards of accuracy and repeatability

  • Having the ability to check and inspect your own work meets the required standard and tolerances, by demonstrating high quality standards and the ability to use a variety of measurement equipment

  • Having the ability to modify process parameters, based on material specification or machine feedback

  • Taking a proactive approach to health, safety and environmental risks and report them as necessary

  • Applying machine maintenance as per schedules

  • To complete accurately and in a timely fashion all relevant paperwork and record work digitally using the SAP system

  • Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability as required

  • Maintaining a clean room environment using good manufacturing practices

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have an understanding of mechanical drawings and measuring work to tolerances

  • Have experience of manual machining (lathes and milling machines)

  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing process

  • Be a good team player and display good communication and problem-solving skills
