Health and Safety Officer - Sligo
Contract Role
 
With over 40 years in business, our client have built up a reputation for quality Civil work across a range of sectors including; Pharmaceutical, Transport, Waste Water and Education. 
They now  have an immediate requirement for a contract Safety Officer to be based in a multi-site role in Co.Sligo.

Responsibilities:

Investigate incidents thoroughly and report findings accurately to facilitate continuous improvement.
Develop and deliver employee training programs to promote safety awareness and compliance.
Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.  
Create and maintain health and safety documentation, meticulously logging all relevant information.
Ensure compliance with current safety regulations and collaborate with departments to address safety concerns effectively.

Requirements:

Excellent proficiency in English, particularly in report writing and statement acquisition.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various departments and managers.
Proficient in drafting and delivering PowerPoint presentations and conducting ongoing toolbox talks.
Reporting directly to the Health & Safet y Manager, with occasional liaison with company directors.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Diploma in Health and Safety.
1-2  years of relevant experience demonstrating a track record of operational improvement and increased safety awareness.
Advantageous qualifications include certification as a Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheel instructor trainer, along with First Aid Training.
Previous experience in water, pharmaceutical, or telecoms civils utilities works is advantageous.
Possession of relevant certifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and a full driving license.
