THE ROLE

As the Senior Director, Procurement , you will be responsible for leading a team of sourcing professionals and ensuring the development and execution of Key Category and Sourcing Strategies across multiple functional scopes within the business. You will oversee an ever growing spend/scope (currently $x Mio) as the AG1 business continues to evolve: looking to optimize our supplier relationships to drive value by challenging market dynamics, using core procurement principles, theory and strategy to influence the industries in which we partner.

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer you will work closely to establish and track performance against our critical success KPIs/metrics, define the long term procurement strategy to drive supply chain transformation and optimize the business. To be successful, you will be someone who can think strategically and analytically, using data and insights to drive decision making. You will have a passion for sourcing and have strong understanding in key sourcing/procurement tools such as auctions, negotiations, make vs buy analysis, commodity hedging, etc. You will be a strong executor and do what is needed for our business to succeed: overseeing and implementing our sourcing plan, leading contract negotiations/tenders/auctions and implementing strong supplier management routines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
    • Establish and deliver against critical Success Metrics (linked to company performance and OKRs).
    • Setting and executing against long term targets for performance indicators.
    • Tracking OKR performance, identify and close gaps through the use of improvement plans that leverage six sigma methods.
    • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities and gaps to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Define Category and Sourcing Strategies for all key Products and Services.
    • Utilize 7 step sourcing methodology and Kearney’s Chessboard to influence and drive decision-making.
    • Apply key strategic tools to analyze and optimize business decisions and outcomes, such as SWOT analysis, Porters Five Forces, Make vs Buy analysis, Industry Benchmarking, commodity hedging and forecasting, among others.
    • Create and execute against a 12 month rolling sourcing plan: using game theory within tenders and auction/negotiation to deliver value through variables such as cost, cashflow (payment terms), supply security, quality, innovation and sustainability commitments, etc.
    • Segment suppliers based on strategic relevance and implement supplier management programs that focus on SLAs and KPI performance to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure business needs are met.
    • Ensure strong contracting processes and standards are in place that drive positive supplier behaviors and limit risk to the business. Leveraging critical clauses such as MFNs, ROFRs and Meet Competition to ensure agreements continue to deliver business value after sourcing.
    • Work with, manage and influence leadership across multiple functions (Commercial, Supply, Finance, People, Sustainability, etc) to drive business value through 3rd parties – understanding business needs, objectives and priorities to define key supplier and sourcing strategies (delivering beyond cost alone).
    • Create and manage a team of sourcing professionals. Driving high performance and strong engagement by establishing a clear vision, implementing strong processes and providing opportunities for growth through learning/coaching.
    • Challenge the status quo: constantly benchmarking and exploring the market to identify new technologies, processes, suppliers and solutions that can enable businesses to improve performance.
    • Support in executing on contingency plans to maintain continuity of operations in the face of unforeseen disruptions.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in procurement across multiple spend categories, on both a regional and global basis.
    • Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and developing cross-functional teams.
    • Track record of delivering results through sourcing and the use of auctions, game theory principles and negotiations.
    • Strategic and data driven mindset with the ability to think long-term and anticipate future challenges.
    • Proficiency in supply chain technologies, analytics, and software systems.
    • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management.
    • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives through data analytics and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage risks and resolve problems effectively.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
  • Competitive compensation and performance-based incentive plans.
  • A 100% remote working environment (excluding Laboratory positions), which has been implemented from day one.
  • A strong company culture that is enforced through the hiring process to ensure values alignment and a highly collaborative team.
  • A mission-driven approach to everything that we do, with an overall goal to significantly improve our customers’ health and wellness.
  • A high-growth, dynamic environment with opportunities for your direct impact to be felt.
  • Paid holidays, company-wide mental health days, and unlimited PTO (based on your country of residence).
  • In-person team meetups for optimal collaboration, team building and accelerating productivity.
  • A work environment and culture  that is based on high performance, productivity and continuous improvement.
  • The opportunity to work with passionate, high-growth, business-minded colleagues who bring their all to our mission each and every day.
