Meet the team:
This role involves
working on challenging Irish and International tax issues within the
Insourced Solutions for Tax (“IST”) group in PwC.
The IST group was
formed in April 2017 upon the transfer of circa 600 GE tax
professionals to PwC. In Ireland, the team comprises 12 highly
experienced cross functional tax professionals who advise on a broad
spectrum of areas including corporate tax planning, compliance,
transfer pricing, M&A, VAT, RCT etc.
The IST group represents a
unique platform from which PwC can provide managed tax services to
sophisticated clients. Through a combination of business experience
and tax technical expertise, the IST platform enables PwC to provide
an unparalleled client experience with an in-house feel. Whilst the
group launched with just one client (GE), it now advises a number of
MNCs across a variety of industries both in Ireland and
internationally.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity
for a full-time Senior Manager / Director for the IST Ireland group to
work on a variety of clients and as part of the Global PwC IST
network. The portfolio of clients extends across several business
sectors and includes financial services, renewable energy, healthcare,
oil & gas, power and real estate thereby giving you exposure to many
varied commercial issues and taxes. This is a unique role in that you
will have the opportunity to build very close relationships with your
clients as you would be working closely day to day with them and
acting almost as an extension of their in-house tax team. Thus, the
successful candidate would have the benefit of being an active
participant in major commercial decisions as well as having the
resources and support of being part of a professional services
firm.
As a Senior Manager / Director you will support the IST
team in building business for the firm, leading and managing
assignments won and developing and managing the IST team.
You
will be located in our Dublin office at Spencer Dock and have the
opportunity to:
Lead and manage a challenging and varied client
portfolio;
Develop your own career in a dynamic and growing
group;
Develop and maintain business relationships and market
profile with a view to winning new business;
Develop and maintain
new products and service offerings;
Lead both internal and external
projects;
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including tax,
advisory and accounting specialists;
Motivate your team to perform
at their best, make a difference and deliver results, while providing
mentorship and guidance allowing them to stretch to their full
potential;
Identify additional client service
opportunities;
Work on attracting, developing and retaining the
best talents for the firm;
Participate in flexible working
arrangements and achieve a level of autonomy at Senior Manager
/Director grade within the support network of a dynamic professional
services firm;

Who are we looking for?
You are AITI / CTA
qualified (or equivalent);
You have over 8 year’s taxation
experience with at least 4 at manager level;
You must have strong
leadership skills and have a proven record in building a team with the
capacity and capability to deliver.
Excellent delegation skills and
proven ability to manage and develop junior members of the team is
required;
You will have excellent business development and
relationship management skills, whilst still maintaining the ability
to take direction from Tax Partners and clients;
Excellent
organisational and planning capabilities;
Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills.
