PTC is building a new SaaS platform and we’re looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our team to work on automated testing of backend core services. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and build highly scalable, resilient, and secure automation to ensure the quality of SaaS services on which future PTC SaaS products will be delivered. This is a new platform and as such, you will have the chance to design, architect and choose technologies and patterns and build software from the group up.

You will be joining a team of software and cloud engineers building core components for PTC’s new SaaS platform. The team is based in Dublin and as part of the PTC SaaS Organization, you will be working with teams from around the world including USA, Israel, India and UK.

Day-To-Day

• Primary focus of role is to build automated testcases to verify cloud infrastructure updates – see preferred experience
• Build automated testcases to verify updates to SaaS microservices
• Propose test framework enhancements and testing technologies
• Work in an Agile environment
• Collaborate with the scrum team to take advantage of new concepts/technologies
• Contribute to our technical direction and standards with engineers on the team

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Comfortable developing with cloud technologies
• Experience with modern QA patterns and practices
• Experience breaking down stories and requirements into test suites
• Demonstrated technical leadership to contribute to various projects and multiple teams
• A passion for writing clean, testable, and scalable code

Preferred Experience:

• Creation of automated testcases (Java or Python preferred) to verify infrastructure updates in Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
• Experience building pipelines using CI/CD technologies (Gitlab preferred)

Basic Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in QA or development
• 3+ years in testcase automation
