Autodesk's Development Enablement
organization seeks a hands-on, experienced engineering manager to lead
a team of thoughtful and driven engineers responsible for building,
maintaining, and supporting Autodesk's next-generation
platform.
You will lead the software engineering teams that
manages cloud platform technologies, will have engineering leadership
experience and hands-on background, and can guide projects through
completion; they will be well-versed in modern automation frameworks
that will be used to build supportive services used by our internal
customer base, manage cloud technologies, middleware, language
runtimes, CI/CD build and deployment systems, core libraries,
debugging and monitoring tools that support Autodesk engineering
across the world.
In this managerial role, your primary focus
areas will revolve around overseeing the development and
implementation of tools and automation necessary for deploying
services on public cloud platforms, AWS. Using your expertise in
software engineering, you will create a platform that enables our
global development teams to have access to scalable
services.
As a Manager, you will lead a team, collaborating
with them to develop standardized CI/CD processes, ensuring the
secure, scalable, compliant, and delivery of products and services.
Your technical acumen should encompass experience with
containerization technologies and orchestration platforms, in
infrastructure-as-code tools and concepts, familiarity with
configuration management tools, and an understanding of cloud
platforms and services.
Additionally, you will collaborate with
multiple stakeholders to understand requirements and use cases,
proposing process automation and new tools to enhance overall
efficiency.
You will report to a Senior Engineering
Manager
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage the software
engineering / SRE team
Provide insight, feedback, and
recommendations to senior management
Identify efficiency
opportunities through automation and engineering
Manage the
planning, execution, and success of technical projects
Work with
architects, product owners, and experience designers towards a shared
vision and contribute to product roadmaps and business
strategies
Hire top engineering talent
Collaborate with a
geographically dispersed team and stakeholders
Work with Autodesk's
engineering teams to ensure services are available and
reliable
Perform code reviews, evaluate implementations, and
provide feedback for tool improvements
Engage in technical and
architectural discussions
Collaborate with stakeholders to
understand requirements, understand use cases, and build toward a
cohesive technical strategy
Automate processes and propose new
tools when needed
Minimum Qualifications
Understanding
of developing large-scale, distributed microservices architecture and
platforms
Minimum qualifications include 10+ years of relevant
industry experience, 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership, and 5+
years of people management experience.
Experience working with
remote teams
Development background in one or more languages
(Python, Golang).
Experience with Scrum and Agile development
processes and methodologies.
4+ years of production experience in
large-scale cloud-based Infrastructure (AWS
preferred)
Customer-facing and service-oriented
person
Understand & curiosity of DevOps best practices,
architectures, and methods.
Experience with cloud-native
applications
4+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes/ECS
environments
4+ years of experience with configuration management
tools and cloud automation (e.g., TerraForm, Chef, Ansible,
etc.)
4+ years of experience defining and building CI/CD processes
and working with standard CI/CD tools (Jenkins/Circle CI/Spinnaker,
etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Python,
Golang and shell, jsonnet, javascript.
Proficiency in consuming,
designing, and implementing REST APIs.
Experience building apps on
AWS using services such as Step functions, DynamoDB, IAM, EC2,
CloudWatch and Lambda.
Previous experience in roles related to SRE,
DevOps, system administration, infrastructure engineering, or software
development.
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining
scalable and reliable systems.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based
solutions.
Understanding of DevOps principles and
practices
