Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced legal professional to fill the role of VP Legal based in Shannon . This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to their success by providing legal and transactional support within the dynamic field of aviation leasing. 
 
They currently have a requirement for a Qualified Solicitor ideally with 5+ years PQE. 
 

What you'll be doing:

  • Create and review cross-border engine lease, acquisition, sale, and related transaction documents, including SLB transactions and short-term leases.
  • Offer legal support to a global sales and transaction team, with a primary focus on the EMEA region.
  • Provide in-house legal advice, guidance, and support for the execution and administration of transactions.
  • Identify and resolve legal risks and issues, encompassing default management, lease restructurings, repossessions, and associated litigation and bankruptcy matters.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with parent company rules.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel across departmental needs and objectives.

What you'll need:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s LLB degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Qualified to practice law in relevant jurisdictions (USA, England, and/or Ireland).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Aviation Leasing Industry or within a Law Firm dealing with aviation leasing.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and legal skills, coupled with extensive commercial acumen.

  • Ability to work energetically within cross-functional international teams, demonstrating initiative in a busy environment.
  • Proven drafting and negotiation skills & experience.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry and commercial risk.
  • Attention to detail and a keen awareness of risk.
