The Role
The Senior System Integration Engineer will lead the design and delivery of innovative energy system software solutions to customers in the electric energy ecosystem, from green energy generation and power conversion to energy storage systems to powering electric drive trains. Product types include advanced smart meters, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, EV fast chargers, On-board Chargers, and E-drive systems.   • Develop embedded system software from concept, through architecture and design to production.

POSITION OVERVIEW

KKR is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Lead Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation pipelines, who is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic environment. You'll work closely with developers, QA engineers, and senior DevOps engineers to streamline deployments, enhance infrastructure reliability, and support our development lifecycle through best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure infrastructure using Terraform and AWS.

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, tests, and deployments.

  • Engage in an agile, iterative software development process

  • Collaborate with development teams to support and improve build and release processes.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to ensure system reliability and performance.

  • Contribute to internal documentation related to infrastructure, deployment, and support processes.

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role.

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, VPC, etc.

  • Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Basic scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or similar languages.

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive
DevOps Engineer
to join a growing engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams, implement deployment strategies, and streamline the development lifecycle in a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and enforce branching/version control strategies (Git Flow, trunk-based).
  • Architect and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement secure IAM roles, policies, and permissions.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment with Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Develop automation scripts in Python and Bash.
  • Manage artifacts using JFrog Artifactory.
  • Integrate and maintain code quality/security tools (SonarQube, Fortify, Prisma Cloud, Qualys).
  • Ensure observability practices with CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar tools.
  • Work with security/compliance teams to apply DevSecOps principles and support audits.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response/post-mortems.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in a cloud-native environment.
  • Strong expertise with AWS cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise).
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Terragrunt).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of IAM, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland.

Nice to Have

  • AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Security Specialty).
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC2).
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures and secrets management.
  • Experience implementing policy-as-code and compliance automation tools.
