The successful applicant will plan and lead ethnographic work with project participants and stakeholders in Cork City working on issues pertaining to retrofitting of social housing in Cork City.
Other duties, including but not limited to, will be research, teaching, supervision and administration as well as training and career development opportunities.
The work will be carried out under the direction of the PI with support from the project team.
Further details about the Cyber Social Research Lab are available here: In addition to conducting and completing the ethnographic research, the postdoc is expected to: Be an active collaborative partner in the research project and the research lab activities.
Publish independently and in collaboration with the Cyber Social Lab in relevant peer-reviewed journals and contribute to different project outputs.
Initiate and organise activities with the Lab.
Initiate, co-organise and participate in conferences, seminars and webinars, as well as other relevant activities.
Collaborate with the project's advisory board.
Supervision at UG and PG level in Anthropology.
Carry out teaching-related tasks at UG and PG levels in Anthropology.
The Post-Doctoral position is full time for 15 months with an expected start date of 1st December 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter with agreement from the PI.
The position requires on-campus attendance, ethnographic fieldwork and some international travel.
The post-holder will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with external stakeholders.

The Walter Lab at APC Microbiome Ireland develops nutritional- and microbiome-based therapeutic strategies to improve human health and prevent chronic disease.

The laboratory of Professor Jens Walter at APC Microbiome Ireland is seeking an outstanding microbiome-focused researcher to take up a Post-Doctoral or Senior Post-Doctoral appointment.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact research program at the interface of nutrition, microbiology, immunology, and metabolomics, with a major focus on leading the scientific project while translating discoveries at the forefront of microbiome science into applications with commercial potential.
This role offers the chance to drive innovation and shape the future of interdisciplinary microbiome science at APC and University College Cork.
The Post-Doctoral or Senior Post-Doctoral will lead and coordinate a portfolio of interdisciplinary projects within the Walter Lab, with the overall goal of translating microbiome research into applications with potential for product development.
The initial focus will be on the Microbe Restore program - a large Science Foundation Ireland-funded initiative exploring nutritional and microbiome-based strategies to restore the microbiome for improved human health.
Working closely with Professor Jens Walter and Professor Liam O'Mahony, the Fellow will drive the analysis of collaborative projects that investigate how the gut microbiome influences immune and metabolic responses and explore avenues to translate this research into tangible applications in multiple areas.

The Organisational Change Lead will play a critical role in shaping and guiding the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) through transformational change.
This role is responsible for driving change and organisational development initiatives through working with LEAN principles that align with strategic goals, foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, and ensure the effective implementation of change across all levels of the organisation.
The Change Lead will champion best practices in change management and organisational development, using structured methodologies, such as Prosci, ADKAR, Kotters Model, Mc Kinsey Seven S Model to plan, deliver, and embed sustainable change while supporting people through transition and delivering impactful organisational outcomes.
Reporting to the HR Director and working closely with the PMO and key stakeholders, the role will identify performance gaps, assess organisational readiness, manage resistance, and build internal capability to adapt to evolving needs.
Through strong communication, strategic thinking, and a people-centric approach, the Organisational Change Lead will help to successfully embed new ways of working, enhance employee engagement, and deliver long-term value for the organisation.
The Change Lead will operate in partnership with the PMO, ensuring that assigned organisational change activities are integrated with the IBTS Project & Change Delivery Framework.
The post holder will maintain accountability to the Head of PMO, in alignment with the HR Director.
Essential Criteria: Education/Certification: Bachelors degree or Masters in Change Management, Organisational Development/Psychology, Business or comparable field Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role Demonstrated complex organisationalchange success increasing change capabilities and achieving set targets such asreducing cost, reducing risk, improving ways of working.
Demonstrated experience and success applying structured change management andorganisational development models such as Prosci ADKAR, Mc Kinsey 7 S Model or Kotters Model in complex, multi-stakeholder environments delivering organisational transformation outcomes.
Experience working with portfolio management to align change adoption with programme and portfolio outcomes.
