Project Manager - Portlaoise

The Industrial & Water Services division of Enva provide high end environmental/engineering solutions involving directly employed engineers, technician and operators, large amount of bespoke and complex equipment to waste management and water and waste treatment. 

 

We are seeking an experienced project/contract manager with a technical engineering background to join the team as mid management level and take on ownership and responsibility of projects ranging from €25K to €1m in value, 

This role requires initiative, drive and dedication to ensure that the business unit grows and develops. 

 

The role offers significant potential for rapid personal growth and development. This role may suit a civil, environmental or mechanical engineer looking to work within the water, waste water sector or environmental sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective and efficient management of projects making sure that the proposed plan is adhered to timeline, budget and scope
• Ensure the business unit grows and develops 
• Operational deliverables: ensure client scope requirements is met inclusive of management of contractors.
• Ensure effective program management inclusive of subcontractors installation targets to specific programs 
• Profitability: management of overall costs, these include subcontractor internal costs versus the management of contracted revenue maximising margins in the process 
• H&S  - generation of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), Project Supervisor Construction Standards (PSCS) and Project supervisor design phase (PSDP)
• Ensure compliance and quality standards is met in every aspect of projects undertaken
• Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies and other stake holders, monitor projects budgets and programmes. 
• Support in developing the sales pipeline, meeting and developing opportunities with new prospects and existing clients 
• Preparation of proposals and profit and loss accounts for new projects with existing customers 
• Assist in driving forward the development of new service offerings within Enva. 
• Research and support new initiatives to maintain Enva’s position as an innovator and a forward thinker in the waste and water sectors within Ireland and the UK.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Engineering, technical. Environmental, or construction primary degree or related qualification minimum level 7  
• Demonstrable experience with a minimum of 3-5 years’ project management, contract management, managing budgets, deliverables and safety or similar discipline 
• Sector specific experience in the Water/Wastewater/Waste industry is desirable
• Excellent communications skills to coordinate team members and key stakeholders
• Ability to effectively plan, organise and project manage - essential
• Demonstrable problem solving and analytical skills

**Minimum qualifications:**

**Job Overview**
Responsible for managing a project team and driving project performance, resource planning, staffing, risk management, and communication. The focus will be on On-Time Delivery, scope, schedule, and budget objective attainment of multiple strategic projects of high complexity (Types II & 1) and high risk.
**Job Requirements**
+ Achieve On-Time Delivery objectives, manage scheduling, and report progress.
+ Hold core teams accountable for schedules, deliverables, and project performance.
+ Oversee budget alignment, capital expenditures, and resource planning.
+ Track lessons learned, manage best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
+ Lead and participate in Phase Gate Reviews, ensuring compliance with Product Lifecycle tools.
+ Maintain accurate project reporting, time tracking, resource planning and risk management.
+ Resolve project conflicts, establish escalation paths, and support strategic initiatives.
+ Facilitate the resolution of project issues by team members.

**What your background should look like**
**Qualifications**
+ 5+ years of demonstrated Project/Program Management experience in technology or Medical Device Manufacturing working with internal and external customers required.
+ Experience managing complex projects (Type II & I) in a global setting with some experience in managing others.
+ Level 8 degree in a related discipline.
+ Experience in the matrix management of a project team.
**Key Requirements**
+ Project Management: Formal training required; PMP certification preferred. Experience with LEANPD, Waterfall, and Agile methodologies. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and programs and meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
+ Product & Regulatory Knowledge: New product introduction experience required; knowledge of FDA regulations preferred.
+ Leadership & Communication: Strong business acumen, ability to communicate with senior management and customers, and lead local/global teams.
+ Project Execution: Proven ability to manage multiple projects/programs, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget compliance.
+ Technical & Process Expertise: Experience with Product/Project Lifecycle implementation, risk and change management, and manufacturing principles.
+ Tools & Systems: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, collaboration tools, and databases.
+ Soft Skills: Results-oriented mindset, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, change management and influence.
+ Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.
