As a Sales Engineer, you will be selling a range of cable glands, cable management solutions, and tooling to a vast of end-users such as: panel builders, M&E Contractors, OEMs, and Cable Harness businesses.
Once the demand has been generated with that end-user on their project you will pull the sale back through the electrical wholesale network of which there a number of national and independent distributors on patch.
You will have a lot of support from marketing, customer service, inside sales, and product managers within the UK manufacturing site, as well as team support in Ireland from 3 other Sales Engineers and their new facility, based in Dublin.
This is a growth role due to the continued expansion of the team, which will see you conducting a lot of new business activity in your first 12 months.

They are constantly growing, and this development of the Irish market is testement to that.

As a Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) at TE Connectivity, you will play a key role in supporting customers in the UK and Ireland utilities sector by combining your technical expertise with customer interaction, working closely with product management, R&D, sales, and engineering teams to deliver technical support, demonstrations, and application engineering that ensure our products meet customer needs.
**Your main tasks:**
+ Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, including hands-on assembly of LV, MV, and HV cable accessories.
+ Prepare and manage technical documentation, such as bills of materials and assembly instructions.
+ Provide application engineering support to adapt existing products to meet customer requirements.
+ Advise customers and internal sales teams on product selection.
+ Support customers during the introduction and installation of new and existing products - on-site and at customer training centres.
+ Deliver training to customer trainers on product use and installation.
+ Collaborate with Product Management and R&D during the new product development process, sharing customer and application insights.
+ Install prototype cable accessories for type testing.
+ Provide technical input into the tendering process.
**Your ideal background:**
+ Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
+ Fluency in English.
+ Completed a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering and ideally qualified to BTEC level in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
+ Experience working within the power utility or cable/accessory industry (preferred).
+ Strong practical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving.
+ Computer literacy, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
+ Valid driving license and passport, with flexibility to travel internationally as required.
+ Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and deliver solutions under time/workload constraint
