Monaghan The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core. The ASI is currently recruiting a Care Worker who will work for our Monaghan Daycare at Home Services, with offices based in Monaghan Enterprising office, Mtek 1, Armagh road, Monaghan, H18 P5P7. The successful candidate will work in assigned family homes across Monaghan. This is a permanent contract of employment working 28 hours per week. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing social activity-based care with minimum personal care. This can include music sessions, reminiscence therapy, arts & crafts, gentle exercises, conversation, companionship and recreational activities. They would also provide person centered care to people with dementia in the client's own home. You will need good communication and organizational skills and be able to work on your own initiative. To be successful in this position it is essential you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activates with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. Candidates in this area must have a full clean driving license and access to a car to be considered for this role. Confidence in using IT/Email is also desirable. We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with the care sector, and dependent on relevant experience.
