Role Profile

In the United States we currently market our premium quality products under the umbrella master brand of "Truly Family Farms" with grass fed butters and cheeses under the Truly Grass Fed trademarked name, and Oat Milks under the Truly Gluten Free brand name. All of our products are farmed and supplied by our cooperative of small family farmers in Ireland. Given that our emerging brand business continues to grow exponentially, we are in search of an experienced goal driven Director of Business Development to lead and oversee a business development team positioned throughout the U.S.

Reporting to Truly Family Farms Sr. Vice President, this position will work closely with the Truly Family Farms team based in the U.S. as well as the team based in Ireland to contribute to our growth strategy in this important marketing area of the United States. The role will be key in assisting Truly Family Farms Team expand our consumer products portfolio in the U.S. market. Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and managing existing Regional Development Managers along with active involvement with select key retailers and distributors
  • Working closely with retailers, distributors, and brokers to build Truly Family Farms Dairy and Plant Based Beverage brands into retail trade channels within the United States.
  • Implement strategies with Business Development team within distributors, brokers and retailers to grow distribution
  • Support the team, customize presentations leveraging syndicated and internal data
  • Review, analyse and manage data via internal SAP reporting, Vividly Trade Promotions Management system, and external syndicated data via Circana, SPIN's and Nielson
  • Work closely with Marketing team to deliver and optimize retailer-focused activities
  • Develop and execute annual plan/budgets at total U.S., region, and key customer level
  • Active involvement with S&OP process, assisting with forecasting to demand needs
  • Prepare and deliver periodic retailer, distributor, and broker business reviews
  • Work closely with the Chicago-based team to create and implement business strategies
  • Represent Truly Family Farms at national and customer tradeshows, including occasional weekends

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in successfully managing a team within the food CPG industry
  • Minimum 5 years' knowledge and successful track record working with key retailers and distributors focused on Conventional, Natural Enhanced, Club, and Mass Market channels across the U.S.
  • Experience managing brokers to achieve target goals and objectives
  • Butter, Dairy Cheese, Deli Cheese and Plant Based Beverage selling and management experience is highly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of UNFI, KeHE, regional distributors, and wholesalers
  • Experience with a successful track record of developing, implementing and managing promotional trade plans to achieve planned incremental volume, ROI, and budgeted trade spend
  • Experienced working with internal on-line Trade Promotions Management software programs to manage sales, volume and trade spends
  • Start-up attitude with ability to multi-task, and think both strategically and "outside the box"
  • A proven ability to recognize opportunities for business expansion within key customers
  • Ability to create reports and metrics to track results and prepare and deliver executive presentations
  • Experienced in interacting with senior management across various functions of organizations
  • Results-oriented and KPI-driven

  • Develop a comprehensive requirement specification that will determine the estimate of cost, time and resources to deploy solutions. Develop project estimates and complete financial model (costs, savings, revenue opportunities, investment horizon, etc.). Liaise with the service development team to suggest a high level functional solution.
  • Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in specification of new services and/or major upgrades to existing services.
  • Ensure the overall user experience is taken into account when designing and deploying new solutions and services.
  • Ensure consistency and traceability between user requirements, functional specifications and testing & validation. Support validation and testing (OQ, PQ, UAT )
  • Ensure implemented solutions are according to specifications and fit for purpose.
    Support super user training.

Role Requirements:

  • University degree in Informatics, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences or similar
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in working in the Pharma or IT Industry with 8+ years of experience in the Lab IT domain
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience as a business analyst/process expert/ business IT lead superuser/Lab data or Digital position
  • Expert understanding of business process analysis & design and system architecture concepts.
  • Expert understanding of the Lab business processes, drug development experience an advantage
  • Expert knowledge of GXP, 21CFR Part 11 and the CSV lifecycle
  • Expert knowledge of Lab systems including LIMS systems, and Chromatography systems.
  • Ability to solve complex business process / information challenges.
  • Proficient skills in global teams, collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, working in a matrix environment and conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management, agile an advantage
  • Prior working experience in TRD and knowledge on TRD business processes is preferred.
  • Innovation experiences an advantage, including digital innovation projects
  • Data Strategy, Data science or data standardization experience an advantage.
