As part of this expansion, we are looking for an energy pricing manager to join our team of energy and commodity market experts. The team fosters a strong spirit of collaboration, continuous development, and excellence. Our work is heavily data based; therefore, you should have a third level degree in a quantitative subject such as engineering, mathematics, finance / economics, or the sciences. Work experience in the industry is desired for the role with any gas and electricity pricing or trading experience being highly advantageous. You should have a deep understanding of electricity and gas markets, and a desire to know and understand more about how our customers consume energy and how wholesale and retail energy markets will develop in the future. You will take primary responsibility for designing electricity, gas and heat tariffs for our commercial customer base and will also support residential pricing. You should be able to take the lead in implementing, tracking and trading hedge strategies, along with providing best in class analysis of the markets we operate in. As we are a data driven company, Ideally, you should have an understanding, or the ability to gain an understanding of tools used to store, query and process databases. The Amazon Energy Procurement Operations (EPO) team is looking for an Energy Operations Manager to join us. EPO manages energy supply contracts post their execution, provides controllership for financial and operational performance, and ensures our supply portfolio is compliant with external regulations, contract obligations as well as internal policies. You will be a part of the team responsible for managing the portfolio of the world's largest corporate buyer of renewables.
Our team is looking for an individual with a track record for managing programs, including planning, launching and executing initiatives that drive excellence. This role will support the management of our contracts in an assigned region, and will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the org to report, analyze and improve performance of our energy portfolio. The right candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously, has an analytical skill set, and experience managing contracts.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the assigned portfolio of energy agreements and renewable power purchase agreements.
- Take part in shaping and implement the EPO programs (including contract management, financial performance and energy compliance with external and internal stakeholders) to meet the org's goals and success metrics.
- Plan and drive execution of initiatives to improve our energy operations. Continuously seek to invent and simplify in order to achieve further scale effect for Amazon's management of its energy portfolio.
- Act as a subject matter expert on executed renewable energy agreements in designated markets, and own the management of the contractual obligations with counterparties.
- Report and analyze performance in assigned portfolio, identifying impacts to our business units and our customers.
- Support the management of the on-boarding process for new contracts with a large number of counterparties. Track progress and drive for successful completion.
- Support environmental attributes tracking and retirement across the portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with other AWS and Amazon teams to support the management of the energy programs.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required.
- 5-7 years of experience in managing cross-functional projects, initiatives and teams.
