PM Group now has an opportunity for Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to work on-site (hybrid) with a one of our clients, they are based in Newbridge, Kildare. Responsibilities Lead the full EIA process, delivering EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale renewable energy projects Provide environmental planning expertise to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policy Keep updated on environmental legislation and planning developments at local and national level Support stakeholder engagement and consultations with local communities, statutory and non-statutory bodies Prepare technical scopes for third-party services and assist with procurement processes Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices across all projects. Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous professional development within the team Collaborate with colleagues across Planning, Engineering and Senior Management to meet strategic business goals Qualifications Level 8 Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline 5 years' plus relevant experience Understanding of Irish planning law and environmental regulations Strong communication skills and experience in dealing with internal (company teams and management) and external parties (industries, communities and regulatory agencies) Why PM Group? Job Description
Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist Responsibilities: Lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for large-scale Renewable Energy projects, including the delivery of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Statement (AA/NIS). Provide environmental expertise to support the Planning Team and inform business strategy, ensuring compliance with planning and environmental regulations. Stay updated on changes in planning/environmental legislation, policies, and development plans. Contribute to company submissions as needed. Assist the Stakeholder and Advocacy team in developing communication and consultation plans with local communities and stakeholders. Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist in procurement processes. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies, and relevant EU and National regulations. Mentor and assist junior staff, particularly in EIA and Appropriate Assessment processes. Participate in performance management to achieve team objectives. Requirements: Hons Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field; Postgraduate qualification is a plus. 5+ years' experience leading EIAR and AA/NIS preparation for large-scale projects. Strong understanding of the EIA process and Irish planning policy/legislation. Experience in renewables or related infrastructure projects is desirable; technical expertise in disciplines like ecology, noise, or air quality is a plus .
