This is a six month Fixed Term contract of employment for an immediate start. Key objective: Site Engineer required for civil engineering construction contracts. As a Data Centre (DC) Civil Engineer at AWS, you will lead designs for AWS DCs in our Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography and impact other projects around the world. As a DC Civil Engineer, you will be part of a highly creative and efficient design team comprised of Architects, Engineers, and Designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo. As a subject matter expert, you will have a direct impact on the design of prototypical DC facilities, provide technical guidance, solve large scale implementation issues, and be responsible for Civil Engineering design requirements.

Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Chartered Engineer in Ireland or equivalent overseas accreditation.
- 6-8 years of experience in civil engineering design for industrial, warehouse, or commercial projects.
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of civil engineering including but not limited to; roads design, drainage systems, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, slope stability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in civil engineering.
- Experience managing a team of designers to deliver packages to milestone dates
- Experience across disciplines such as structural, architectural, environmental engineering
- 5+ years of experience directly related to DC or mission critical facility design.
- Detailed understanding of building construction, forensic analysis of building design and construction defects, and evaluating value engineering for building super structure.
- Basic understanding of large scale mechanical and electrical system components and designs. - Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of DCs.
