About Us The Council for Social Witness is part of the work and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and its aim is to provide care for residents / service users in a specifically Christian ethos and environment, placing great emphasis on offering spiritual support and encouragement to residents, as well as physical care. Aaron House is a Residential Care Home for 16 individuals with profound learning disabilities. Attached to the Home there is a Day Care Facility for up to 9 individuals. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy. About The Role What You Will Be Doing Providing compassionate care to residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all times Assisting residents with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activities Encouraging independence while offering support where needed Administering medication (after appropriate training) Supporting residents with social and recreational activities Helping residents exercise their rights and make choices about their daily lives Accompanying residents on trips, appointments, and outings Maintaining accurate records (both written and computerised) Following safety procedures and NISCC Code of Practice standards Attending training and staff meetings to develop your skills Being a team player, working alongside staff to provide the best possible care What We Are Looking For A caring and compassionate nature, with a genuine desire to help others Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team Respect for residents dignity, choices, and independence Willingness to complete training, including NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care Willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland No experience is required, as full training and support will be provided. Clare Salary: €48,000 per annum The Day Care at Home Manager is responsible for providing best practice dementia specific care to Day Care clients in their homes. They will manage and co-ordinate person centered care and resources in the home in an efficient and effective manner to people living with dementia. They have the responsibility for the supervision of Day Care at Home Care Workers in their area and will work closely with other members of staff to ensure they are cognisant of other services which the client/family may be receiving so that they can help ensure that all services are delivered in an integrated seamless manner. They are responsible for health and safety and administration of the Day Care at Home service while providing and promoting a model of care which is person centred, community focused and has an appreciation of the needs of the family carer. Main duties and responsibilties: Supervise, co-ordinate and support the work of Day Care at Home Care Workers assigned to them. Co-ordinate recruitment and ensure that all employees receive appropriate induction and their ongoing training needs are periodically reviewed and actioned. Ensure fair and consistent application of all of The policies and procedures as applicable to the Day Care at Home service. Conduct regular performance reviews with all staff and deal with any breaches of policy, disciplinary or grievance matters in a timely manner. Hold regular individual and group staff meetings to discuss performance, service enhancements, client welfare and relevant operational or procedural matters. Schedule and issue the Day Care at Home staff roster on a weekly/monthly basis based on the individual needs of clients and the requirement for the service to be cost efficient. Keep and maintain appropriate records in relation to all carers assigned to him/her including pay, all forms of leave etc. Prepare, certify, and approve pay sheets and travelling expenses for Care Workers. Allocate a Day Care at Home Care Worker from time to time to cover on a temporary basis in the day care centre when necessary Ensure there is good communication between the Care Workers and family carers. Liaise with the Home Care Co-ordinator when staff cover is required on client referrals Attend training courses, conferences and meetings with the Operations Manager as required Carry out the administration required to provide an efficient and effective Day Care at Home service in the area Ensure that accurate statistics are recorded for the Day Care at Home service and provide reports to the Operations Manager and the HSE regarding same. Apply for grants and ensure any grant income received and other income streams are utilised appropriately and to best effect. Maintain all required record systems relating to management of the service and make available to National Office and Operations Manager such records as required Ensure there is an awareness of the issues relating to dementia at a local level and promote the services provided locally by the organisation.
