As a Senior Technical Engineer Control Systems, you will provide technical leadership in areas of PLC communications, vision and RFID communications while driving activities at the supplier(s) to ensure automation & software support is available to scale up to increased volumes are achieved within ADC requirements. You will lead the technical, and Validation engineering staff. Interface with product team members, department managers, designers/equipment manufacturers, ADC R&D, quality, and regulatory personnel. This role will be based at our TPM in Fermoy, Cork and will require project related travel up to 30%.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee the implementation and management of engineering modifications to boost operational effectiveness.
+ Independently devise and execute creative strategies for tackling complex engineering challenges, leveraging advanced technical expertise across various disciplines.
+ Lead and design intricate engineering studies and experiments that involve multiple variables to achieve robust solutions.
+ Evaluate complex issues, determine their effects, and calculate probabilities to guide informed decisions.
+ Establish comprehensive design and process specifications that align with overarching business objectives.
+ Ensure all documentation is completed promptly and adheres to corporate standards.
+ Take the lead and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to fulfill company goals.
+ Adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures.
+ Exhibit exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
+ Demonstrate self-drive, adaptability, and readiness to work extended hours to meet stringent deadlines.
+ Practice effective time management and resource planning.
**Education and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
+ Minimum of 6 years of engineering and/or operational experience to cultivate the skills necessary for this position.
+ Proficient in PLC programming with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Codesys control systems.
+ In-depth knowledge of Cognex vision systems.
+ Familiarity with RFID communication systems.
+ Experience in developing and executing software testing plans.
+ Knowledgeable in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and validation processes for high-speed automation equipment.

**Responsibilities**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Maintaining ICS (BAS/BMS/EPMS) availability, data quality, service and change management, reporting, and the security of all ICS systems in the datacentres.
+ Site level ICS program and project management, and both govern and directly participate in the execution of global initiatives related to ICS systems.
+ Managing, servicing, and governing Microsoft's electrical and mechanical industrial control systems (ICS) to include servers, applications, networks, and device infrastructure deployed within Microsoft's 24x7x365 mission-critical datacentres.
+ Governing logical and physical access, approval, and permissions related to all ICS systems, networks, workstations, and servers that provide datacentre monitoring and controls.
+ Empowering a culture of safety and security in global datacentre operations by complying with CO+I's safety programs and policies and completing compliance knowledge assessments.
+ Developing positive working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineeringOR equivalent experience.
**Background Check Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not required, we also look for the following **Preferred Qualifications** **:**
+ Bachelor's degree or applicable field experience with building automation/mechatronics in Electrical or Mechanical Critical Environments
+ Experience in an operational, mission-critical, 24x7x365 facility
+ Experience in the design and/or commissioning of Industrial Controls Systems (BMS/BAS/EPMS) in datacentre critical environments including the Modbus and BACnet protocols.
+ Knowledge of IT/OT systems including server and network technologies and familiarity with working in a virtual environment.
+ Experience with the operation and maintenance of building electrical systems (Power distribution and related controls systems) and mechanical systems (HVAC, Chilled Water, DX Refrigerant, Evaporative, and related controls systems)
+ Project management experience with a focus on agile methodologies.
+ Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology including the ability to read and interpret schematics, construction drawings and documents is essential.
+ Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent mission-critical infrastructure projects.
+ Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities.
+ Proven ability to deliver projects on-time and adherence to deadlines.
+ Provide meaningful and timely reporting for weekly success metrics.
+ Established understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS), and/or Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS)
