Tasks

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical Supervisor is required to manage the Electrical Day Team, support management of the Shift Teams and be the point of escalation for the onsite CBRE team on any Electrical items. The Electrical Supervisor will have overall responsibility for all Electrical engineering aspects

including staff development, Electrical processes & procedures for the Data Centre. The Electrical

Supervisor will report to the Technical Manager but will work very closely with all team disciplines on site.

Summarised below are the main tasks that we anticipate would fall within the remit of this position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Electrical Supervision of the operation, maintenance and repair of all critical environment
  • systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power systems.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff and the Client representatives - Be the main point of contact for all client’s electrical requirements.
  • Peer review and keep up to date all site electrical procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs,
  • Drills and AP’s when required or as scheduled by the procedure specialist. Develop sit procedures while keeping all documentation consistent with current client standards.
  • Review all submitted vendor documentation (method statements & risk assessments) relating to Electrical systems prior to any works starting on site via the approved process. Workflow are assigned by sub-contractor specialist for review/approval.
  • Review all vendor submitted service reports (Emergency, break fix & Maintenance reports)
  • and ensure all outstanding or highlighted items on these reports are followed up with & closed out. Review meetings to be held between Electrical, Mechanical and Planning teams.
  • Carry out QA on all vendor works completed on site relating to Electrical systems.
  • Review equipment failures and deliver detailed root cause analysis and post-mortem reports to CBRE, Data Centre Management and global peers as required.
  • Monitor & ensure all critical spares relating to the Electrical & Data Center systems are in place – ensuring quantities, critical components and stock is accurate to what is required.
  • Be the point of contact for the shift team to support Electrical or Data Center escalation as per the site CBRE escalation procedure.
  • Carry out full RCA’s for any technical issues on site providing detailed reports to local and regional management
  • Ensure Emergency classification & notifications are correct, accurate & up to date for
  • Electrical systems.
  • Drive site wide energy efficiency through Energy saving innovations, extra works & projects.
  • All energy saving works must be recorded & updated on the master energy register as part of site process.
  • Assist the Technical Manger to review all subcontractor maintenance contracts to ensure vendor contractual works are technically aligned with site requirements. Attend sub-contract to review meetings & input into the vendor scorecards. Provide site specific Electrical systems training to the electrical team. Assist in the development and training of technicians to ensure robust succession plans for the Data Centre team.
  • Keep the site syllabus & training curriculum up to date as the facility changes to ensure all staff are aware of new equipment or changes on site.
  • Develop electrical examination questions & perform scenario’s as part of the CBRE site specific training program. Sign off on staff competencies for each level obtained, correcting examinations & providing reports/feedback on all assessments.
  • Reach out to and liaise with local and global peers to ensure compliance with client standards and best practice.
  • Report health and safety breaches through the ‘HAZARD’ process
  • Ensure the professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors at all times.
  • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of the CBRE uniform and appropriate PPE when required.
  • Assist the technical manager in technical staff management, development, and appraisal with the constraints of the contract and CBRE policies
  • Assist technical manager on the recruitment of new staff by providing technical assessment or all new candidates interviewing to join CBRE team on site.
  • Review all submitted drills and follow up on any actions – ensure quality of drills & detail i captured at all times.
  • Qualifications, Experience and Character:
  • An excellent understanding and experience of the electrical systems used in a data centre
  • environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units.
  • Experience of complex automatic control equipment, including relay logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), building management systems, and their integration with the data centre infrastructure.
  • Experience of medium voltage distribution systems and associated switch gear and protection equipment.
  • Experience of MV and LV switching procedures and safety protocols
  • Strong and committed team player with excellent communication and coaching skills with the
  • ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with the client and with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the Data Centre systems.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal hours to resolve technical issues in a 24/7 industry
  • Computer literate with the ability to compile and submit monthly and annual reports, and t monitor and trend operational characteristics (load, capacity, environmental conditions etc.).
  • Experience of complex automatic control equipment, including relay logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), building management systems, and their integration with the Data Centre infrastructure.

+ A degree in Civil Engineering, and working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer
+ Previous experience in a design role with specific design experience in some/all of the following:
+ Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems
+ Storm and foul gravity collection networks.
+ Storm and foul rising pumping stations and rising mains.
+ Water main distribution pipelines.
+ Attenuation and flow control elements.
+ Package wastewater treatment systems.
+ Section 50 applications and Flood Risk Assessments.
+ Familiar with Road and Pavement design including working knowledge of DMRB and DMURS.
+ Site suitability assessments and drainage planning requirements.
+ Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to integrate into the existing engineering team.
+ Knowledge of drainage design software such as WinDes (Microdrainage).
+ Experience in the preparation of Public Works Contracts and familiarity with the Capital Works Management Framework is desirable.
+ Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Revit or similar drafting and BIM packages.
+ Familiarity with and adherence to Engineers Ireland's Code of Ethics and working towards obtaining the title of Chartered Engineer of Engineers Ireland.

**Role Description**
SMBC is seeking an Infrastructure Support Admin who has a strong passion for System Support and is interested in building a career at a fast growing and reputable Bank. The Infrastructure Support Admin will be part of the Level 2 System Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for triaging and resolving infrastructure issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the stability and performance of critical systems. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in Linux administration, messaging systems (Microsoft Exchange), Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware, Ansible automation workflows, and Azure Runbook flows, alongside traditional infrastructure support capabilities. 
This role will report to the Manager of Infrastructure Services Team.
**Role Objectives: Delivery**
+ Provide Level 2 support for infrastructure issues across Windows Server, Linux, messaging platforms, and automation tools. 
+ Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems (RHEL), ensuring optimal performance and uptime. 
+ Support and maintain Microsoft Exchange and other messaging platforms (SMTP relays, email gateways). 
+ Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory (user, group, and policy administration). 
+ Operate and enhance Ansible workflows for configuration management and system automation. 
+ Support and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environments. 
+ Develop, maintain, and execute Azure Runbook flows for automated operational tasks. 
+ Collaborate with IT and business teams to assess infrastructure needs and deliver effective solutions. 
+ Perform root cause analysis and contribute to long-term resolution strategies. 
+ Improve monitoring and reporting for daily system health checks. 
+ Document resolutions and procedures in a centralized knowledge base. 
+ Manage and update incidents and requests using ServiceNow. 
+ Ensure compliance with audit and security requirements. 
+ Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed. 
**Qualifications and Skills**
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure and end-user support roles. 
+ Proficiency in Linux system administration (user management, system updates, log analysis, shell scripting). 
+ Experience with Microsoft Exchange and enterprise messaging systems. 
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server environments. 
+ Hands-on experience with Ansible for automation and orchestration. 
+ Experience with VMware vSphere and virtual infrastructure management. 
+ Experience with Azure Runbook flows and automation in cloud environments. 
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Citrix Workspace. 
+ Understanding of core networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, etc.). 
+ Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. 
+ Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning and working.
+ Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills when needed.
+ Possess a highly developed sense of personal accountability and follow-through with an ability to effectively prioritize multiple personal tasks, projects, and goals.

+ A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
+ Either Chartered or working towards Chartered status with the Institution of Engineers of Ireland or Institution of Civil Engineers or relevant Institution
+ Relevant work experience in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure from inception to handover including experience in the design of SUDs, water main distribution pipelines, storm and foul gravity collection networks, surface water catchment analysis, flood risk assessments, highway and pavement design, earthworks modelling and working knowledge of DMRB and DMURS
+ Experienced in using relevant industry-standard software including Microdrainage or InfoDrainage, AutoCAD and Civil 3d.
+ Experience of working in a multidisciplinary design team, and capable of effectively liaising with architects, planning consultants, and external consultants.
+ Experienced in undertaking site inspections, test witnessing and reporting on same, and answering technical RFIs during construction.
