Main Purpose of Role: As a junior bid writer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the creation of high-quality, persuasive bid submissions that embody Murphy's dedication to engineering excellence and client satisfaction. Collaborating with bid managers, engineers, and subject matter experts, you will assist in crafting clear, engaging content that articulates complex technical solutions in accessible language. Your attention to detail will help ensure proposals are compliant, well-structured, and tailored to the unique requirements of each client and project. Through this role, you will develop a keen understanding of the tendering process and gain exposure to the strategic and commercial drivers behind successful bids, positioning you for future progression within Murphy's dynamic environment. Role Duties: Assist in writing and refining high-quality responses for pre-qualification questionnaires, tenders, and proposals, ensuring all content is clear, compelling, and tailored to client requirements. Work closely with engineers, bid managers, and technical teams to gather accurate and up-to-date information, transforming complex technical details into accessible written material. Review bid documents for compliance with client instructions and internal standards, maintaining consistency, accuracy, and adherence to specified guidelines. Support the management and organisation of document libraries, case studies, CVs, and other supporting material, facilitating efficient use in current and future bids. Carefully proofread submissions to ensure they are free from errors, well-structured, and presented professionally. Conduct desk-based research to strengthen bid responses, including gathering information on clients and sector trends. Assist with the coordination of bid activities, tracking progress, meeting deadlines, and maintaining clear communication across bid teams. Continuous Improvement Participation: Contribute to post-bid reviews and feedback sessions, helping identify lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen future submissions. Qualifiations & Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, English, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Ability to interpret and simplify complex technical information Experience with research and information gathering, ideally within a commercial or technical environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems Awareness of compliance requirements and ability to follow specified guidelines Self-motivated, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Previous experience in bid writing or tender support is advantageous but not essential Eligibility to live and work in Ireland What Murphy Offer In Return: Competitive salary and benefits Discretionary annual bonus and annual salary review Above market rate contributory pension scheme available from day one 27 days annual leave per annum. Main Purpose of Role: We have a fantastic opportunity for a bid writer to join our Work Winning Team in Ireland. The role can be based either out of our Newbridge (Kildare) or Cookstown (Dublin) office. The bid writer will be responsible for producing compelling, client-focused, project specific bid proposals to secure contracts and business opportunities. This role is crucial for driving growth by ensuring bids meet client requirements while showcasing our expertise and capabilities. Role Duties: Write and compile bid documents across a range of construction projects including Transport & Infrastructure, Water and Energy ensuring that all required elements are included and aligned with client needs and tender specifications. Tailor bids to match the requirements and language of each project, addressing specific project criteria. Collaborate with project managers, work winning manager, engineers, estimators, SHESQ resources and other departments to gather relevant information for the bid. Research project-specific details, including site conditions, project scope, and client preferences. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, and competitors to ensure compelling bid content. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate and relevant information for the bid. Qualifications & Skills Preferable to have a degree in Civil Engineering, Health and Safety, Quality or Environmental Management Minimum of 2-3 years' site experience Minimum of 2-3 years' experience compiling technical submissions Strong knowledge of construction practices Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, Sustainability, Quality and Environmental practices Strong writing and technical ability Microsoft Word literate Strong English-language skills are essential for this role.
