Within this role you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, implementation, maintenance and ongoing support of various manufacturing equipment specific applications and systems in a cGMP environment. As an Automation Engineer a typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following: Providing end-user support for small manufacturing equipment applications including troubleshooting issues and appropriately communicating items to management, business process owners and users Working on equipment ranging from standalone equipment such as UV Specs, pH meters, particle samplers to networked equipment such as wave rockers, chromatography skids and cell analysers Overseeing and execution of automation preventative maintenance activities Being responsible for generating automation documentation such as SOPs, work instructions and configuration specification documents Performing daily business administrative tasks related to functional support and general user account administration Providing SME support and working closely with functional departments on projects to develop, implement and enhance systems Implementing software/hardware changes and upgrades, understands impact of actions to manufacturing and facilities Providing assistance prior to, during and post regulatory/partner inspections Supporting automation change control requests Participating in or may lead small manufacturing equipment projects to introduce new equipment or upgrade existing applications Working with validation and quality departments to ensure automation applications associated with small manufacturing equipment are implemented following development life cycle approach Participating in or may lead small manufacturing equipment applications, security access and periodic audit trail reviews This role might be for you if: You have relevant experience in Automation or IT You are innovative, possess high attention to detail and results driven You possess an ability to operate as part of a team in a highly interdependent environment You have excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills To be considered for this opportunity you should have a BS/BA or higher in Automation, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years relevant experience. #REGNIRLTO Does this sound like you? A Manufacturing Line Equipment Technician is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Galway based client. The Line Equipment Technician is a key function in the successful operation of the manufacturing line. Their function is to be the SME for Equipment primary and support processes within the Manufacturing area. The role requires the technician to be an ever-present support to the area, providing value add technical expertise to equipment issue resolution but also maintaining a state of operation at all time. The Technician will own the downtime of Equipment metric and the product yields. The technician will be responsible for maintaining these metrics to target, through effective monitoring and evaluation/analysis of the process and the equipment to ensure optimal product output. Galway based - fully on-line with Manufacturing experience. THE ROLE: Shift: Mid Shift 15:30pm 12:00am (Monday Thursday) and 14:15pm 20:15pm (Friday)39 hours weekly Shift Premium 20% Take ownership and responsibility for the technical performance/reliability of equipment to target zero downtime in the technicians area relating to equipment fault through proactive equipment management. A continuous improvement mindset is a must and always working towards this goal in a structured manner. Constantly evaluate equipment and process inputs/outputs to ensure optimal visual and functional product performance and take action before it impacts on uptime or yield. Complete PMs on time and offer improvements when found deficient, to ensure optimal equipment performance at all times. Identify requirements for jigs/fixtures to improve work station efficiency or yield improvement and carry through into manufacturing through the approval process, with supporting data on the potential gains to be achieved. Ensure tooling including mandrels/trim fixtures etc. are available to the line when required and are in optimal working order and fit for purpose. Ensure and maintain a sufficient Kanban and robust process for consumable equipment spares in CER to minimise downtime. Support onboarding of new technician hires when required. Be fully competent in manufacturing product through all work steps and in identifying Accept and Reject samples for all steps. Understand the intended use of product and the impact of defects to functionality of product. Perform functional testing of product where required. Continually review the manufacturing process for improper application of work methods and equipment settings. Communicate promptly, clearly and effectively at all times, to the Line Lead and Line Support Technician with regard to equipment and process issues with a clear plan for resolution that is data driven. Support for equipment introduction in CERs and completing and maintaining accurate up-to-date documentation (EIQs, PMs, etc). REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Level 6 Higher Certificate, or above in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering). Minimum 5 years experience in a technical role in a similar field is required, demonstrated experience with automated equipment maintenance is an advantage. Ability to troubleshoot complex machine faults through experience with electrical and pneumatic systems. Highly motivated with good initiative and strong work ethic. Demonstrated process and continuous improvement mindset. Excellent time management, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
