The Network operations engineers report to the Network Team Lead, and fulfill mainly a day-to-day operations and support role. They maintain close interaction with many other global and local IT operations groups, application support teams, and development staff worldwide. They also work routinely with telecommunications carriers, network gear manufacturers and other providers. This position focuses on network infrastructure support, day to day operations, but also implements small projects such as hardware refreshes and build out of the network for new offices.

Your Role

  • Worldwide level 1 and level 2 support for the network infrastructure
  • Responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and ongoing support of the global Citco network, including WAN and LAN at the datacenters, remote offices worldwide, and external clients.
  • Manage chronic problems to closure
  • Show good common sense and decision making criteria
  • Troubleshooting within the network scope and outside into other technology areas in assistance of other IT groups
  • General network maintenance: software upgrades/patching of network devices (firewalls, routers, switches, SDWAN, etc)
  • Abide by established processes, procedures and policies
  • Participate in the on-call support rotation
  • Flexibility with working shift
  • Travel potentially up to several times per year

About You

Strong knowledge and experience in the following areas and technologies:

  • TCP/IP protocols (TCP, UDP, FTP, GRE, IPsec, etc.)
  • OSPF multi-area.
  • BGP v4 (iBGP and eBGP).
  • Cisco routers, branch office to datacenter grade
  • Cisco Switching (Nexus, Catalyst and Meraki)
  • IPsec site-to-site VPNs, and remote access VPNs using Ivanti and Palo Alto Global Protect.
  • Firewalling, access lists, protocol inspection.
  • LAN switching, Spanning Tree protocol, VLANs, dot1Q trunking, LACP port-channels, vPC, VSS.
  • QOS on the LAN and WAN.
  • Wide area network circuits and services (MetroE, MPLS, etc.)
  • Clear understanding and proven experience on implementing network hardware redundancy.

Other Helpful Skills

  • Vmware Velocloud SDWAN.
  • F5 load balancers (F5 Big IP) or other load-balancer platforms.
  • Palo Alto firewalls and their administration using Panorama.
  • Solarwinds experience
  • Dynamic routing interaction with ISPs using BGP.
  • Clear understanding of how network monitoring using ICMP and SNMP.
  • Operational experience with TACACS+/Radius authentication systems (Cisco ISE).
  • Experience with Netflow analysis and using Netflow collectors.
  • Basic user level knowledge of Linux operating systems.

The Network Engineer role includes the following responsibilities:
· Receive and manage ticket escalations from other teams as well as various monitoring tools involving service-affecting issues.
· Troubleshoot, isolate and correct service-affecting issues on the network in areas including but not limited to: routing protocols, routers, switches, firewall administration, MPLS, BGP, VPN, load balancing.
· Plan, schedule, and implement network maintenance activities which include firmware upgrades, hardware replacement and network infrastructure augments/changes.
· As needed, implement approved routing policy changes/corrections to mitigate points of traffic congestion on the network due to planned or unplanned incidents.

This is a shift-based position with a 24/7/365 department. Individuals must be prepared to work a schedule of shifts that may include nights, weekends and holidays. You must be willing to work in an on-call situation.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our global tech team in Dublin, Ireland.
The **Senior Network Engineer** will be part of a Global team working on key Technology Infrastructure projects aligned with Global Business strategy, within agreed parameters of time. As part of the Global Network team, you will be the technical lead for Core Networks, including Datacentre networking, DDI technologies, Cloud connectivity and Branch locations including HQ and rental locations. You will be responsible for Network architecture, design and implementation. This will include creating or updating design drawings, high-level designs, low-level designs and device configurations. Aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and working with the Principal Network Architect, you will be working with existing and new Network technologies which add value to the Global Business and Global Technology strategy. You will ensure that service levels are maintained and continually improved, and problems with day-to-day delivery of services are minimized.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Responsible for developing the overall Network architecture and integration across core Network systems such as Cisco, Fortinet, AWS, InfoBlox, R53 to meet requirements of Technology and Business stakeholders. Consolidate and integrate the various Network systems in use into a cohesive strategy.
+ Responsible technical lead on Network technologies - Working closely with other Technology teams including Project Management Office for completion of regional and global projects; ensuring Network requirements are represented in infrastructure projects; Ensure Network meets standard configuration, performance and availability requirements, including matching to the Enterprise and Strategic architectures; working as part of the Global Technology team to deliver the appropriate system architecture and infrastructure solutions to meet agreed business requirements; working within schedules, time estimates, and project plans for all deliverables; tracking own involvement for project milestones, identify problem areas before they impact the project.
