**Key Responsibilities:**
Reporting to the Manager Vision Care SCP, the Senior Specialist SCP Vision Care will support sourcing strategy development and implementation, sourcing of components, business continuity planning, and supplier relationship management for the J&J Vision Care franchise.
**The scope of responsibilities include:**
+ Support the J&J Vision Care multi-year Business Continuity Planning (BCP) project by developing an expertise in the raw materials, business needs and key business processes of J&J Vision Care.
+ Support the development and implementation of the Med Tech Supplier Quality Standards.
+ Identify and champion raw material cost improvement projects to ensure competitive market access to Med Tech and its customers.
+ Support BCP strategies.
+ Keep up with supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing.
+ Develop a practical and intellectual understanding of the global Med Tech strategies in order to provide hands-on support of cost / quality / service / SEI / Supplier Rationalization/ Supplier Segmentation and Supplier Diversity projects.
+ Seek to improve capabilities of the supplier base or key business processes.
+ Report performance data for assigned categories, key business processes, and/or selected suppliers.
+ Ensure training on and compliance with relevant company procedures.
+ Communicate, monitor, and aggressively manage compliance with the sourcing strategy and/or business process.
+ Establish close working relationships with other J&J Vision Care functions (e.g. engineering, manufacturing, R&D, quality) to ensure full understanding and support of the J&J Vision Care BCP project.
+ Track and manage performance of suppliers and ensure that performance issues are quickly addressed.
+ Identify sources of data for performance metrics, create a process to collect data, and champion the collection efforts.
+ Champion annual productivity improvements by leading internal & joint supplier / teams pursuing cost reduction opportunities in alignment with the sourcing strategy (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, etc.).
+ Contribute to the continuous development of sourcing knowledge base and best practice by identifying and implementing sourcing "pockets of excellence".
+ Partner with key stakeholders and partners to address technical issues for components and processes
+ Manage all commercial aspects of BCP projects specified by BCP project management, including: negotiation of supply agreements to ensure favorable pricing, terms and conditions from incumbent and new suppliers.
