EHS ENGINEER Duration: 12-months fixed term contract Location:Waterford - onsite About the role The Safety Engineer manages the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment, compliant with all applicable EHS regulations and company policies and procedures. Responsibilities:(Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to the following): Conduct JSAs, risk assessments and assist in machine safety assessments across all site operations. Support the team in EHS management and execution of new projects and programs. Provide direction and advice to site management in the area of national and EU safety legislation, relevant machinery safety standards and best available techniques. Provide EHS expertise for change management process, including review and approval of equipment and machinery modifications from EHS perspective. Participate in the development and implementation of site security protocols and procedures. Participate in pre-start-up safety reviews, internal and external auditing, site safety inspections and walkdowns. Assist the team with the development, documentation and implementation of safe systems of work for manufacturing and maintenance operations. Support the development and implementation of key EHS programs in line with legislation/best practice and deliver appropriate EHS training to personnel onsite. Promote and support positive and proactive safety culture through engagement with employees and relevant stakeholders. Achieve a series of effective EHS KPIs for the site and maintain compliance. Participate and support emergency response and business continuity planning. Support company quality programs and initiatives. Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP in all practices, recording of events and processes. Ensure compliance with all learnings from all GMP training events. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position. Skills/Attributes: Excellent analytical and technical writing skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization. Excellent presentation, organisational and training skills. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements, technical drawings and procedures. Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.   • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainable practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote sustainability initiatives and engage employees in environmental stewardship.

Health & Safety:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate workplace hazards.

  • Provide training to employees on health and safety practices and procedures.

  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date on changes to environmental, sustainability, and health and safety regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies' requirements.

  • Maintain records and documentation related to environmental permits, safety inspections, and training.



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in environmental, sustainability, and health and safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and metrics related to ES&HS performance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with ISO 14001 management systems is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement sustainable practices within an organisation.

Health & Safety Officer| Residential Apartments | Dublin & Meath c.€75k, car allowance, bonus, healthcare, pension & benefits Required for leading Tier 1 residential developer delivering high density/apartments to 10+ floors across the GDA (Greater Dublin Area). The ideal candidate will have proven years construction experience who will be based at head and/or site office (North & West Dublin) with minimal travel. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Safety Director and assisting site management with safety advice, inspections and delegation of administration. Duties: Ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards. Carrying out inductions and other site-specific training packages. Implementation and enforcing of daily and weekly EHS programmes. Assisting Site Management with all aspects of the day to day co-ordinating of site activities. Conducting weekly audits. Reviewing EHS documentation. Maintaining the site records. Desired: Recognised Safety qualification. Excellent interpersonal, strong oral and written communication skills.
