Senior Planner - Dublin, Ireland

To lead the planning management function for the Sisk group of companies. To set the standard for planning and project controls and regularly review the function in the preconstruction and construction phases. To develop a consistent approach and produce regular reports to feedback on progress and performance to the group board.

Key Responsibilities Programme development & control
  • Lead in the development of the baseline contract programme, covering all aspects of design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. All elements to be fully logic linked and have a critical path.
  • Lead in the preparation of a construction (target) programme highlighting areas of improvement against the contract programme.
  • Prepare a tender event programme for the procurement of subcontractors, incorporating design release and lead-in activities.
  • Maintain electronic files and administration of planning and programme documents to facilitate retrieval as required, utilising the common data environment (CDE).
  • Provide all programme information required to support the management team.
  • Develop a 4D graphical model or 2D phasing plans to represent the sequence of build, phasing, and logistics.
  • Use the construction programme to produce or assist in the production of project prelim books, including staff resource, logistics, and temporary works requirements.
  • Engage with the supply chain to develop the project programme concerning design, lead-ins, construction periods, plant, and labor requirements.
  • Review risks and opportunities for each programme and highlight potential mitigation measures, including float and time risk allowances.
Reporting, progress, and as-built information
  • Develop tracking schedules to maintain information and control the production of programmes by subcontractors.
  • Maintain an as-built programme, highlighting deviations from the baseline.
  • Input to change requests to advise on programme impacts for approval and instructions to facilitate works.
  • Use the 4D model and/or 2D phasing to highlight current progress.
  • Produce validated output rates to track live progress and inform tenders.
  • Conduct peer reviews of other planners’ programmes to ensure consistency within the department.
Management Responsibilities
  • Report programme status to the Regional Planner regularly and review programmes with them.
  • Conduct PDPs with assistant planners and drive their development plans.
  • Lead and coordinate planning activities in preconstruction and on-site.
  • Assess programme and entitlements under contracts, coordinating with the management team.
  • Lead weekly and monthly programme reporting.
  • Present programme status at monthly contract review meetings.
  • Ensure quality of planning documents, liaising with site teams and assistants.
  • Prove programme periods through subcontractor liaison, benchmarking, and team consultation.
Experience & Skills
  • Proven track record working with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on live projects.
  • Experience working within a team environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK and EU legal frameworks, especially contract management.
  • Experience managing planning teams.
Qualifications / Training
  • Relevant degree or diploma.
  • Qualifications in construction management.
  • Certification in planning and programme software.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies.
  • Advanced training in Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6.
  • Training in managing people and advanced contract awareness (JCT and NEC).

Job Description

**Minimum qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5 years of experience in program or project management.
+ Experience in the design-build environment for mission critical facilities (e.g., data centers, pharma, industrial).
+ Experience in the pre-construction industry, including conceptualizing, project planning, design development, and project management of data center design/construction.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related commercial or technical field.
+ Professional qualification in cost, risk and contract management.
+ Experience working towards Chartered/Professional status within a recognized professional institution.
+ Experience working towards formal leadership and management certification within a recognized professional body.
+ Ability to communicate in English at business level.
+ Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
As a part of the Front-End Planning and Pre-construction team for self-developed hyperscale data centers, you'll help ensure every project is execution-ready from day one. You will contribute to thorough technical due diligence, support early intake assessments, and help shape project plans aligned with business needs. Working cross-functionally, you will play a key role in driving campus planning, permitting, design readiness, and site preparation laying the groundwork for scalable, high-quality project delivery through the construction funding milestone.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Manage project-specific early stage program management in line with established project guardrails.
+ Manage architects, engineers, project controls, vendors, and contractors.
+ Provide technical and planning inputs for configuration decisions on sites and support the energy and location strategy team with technical constructability reviews.
+ Lead as the principal data center delivery team contact for supply planning and associated issues.
+ Lead the process for securing funding and obtaining approvals through stage gate process and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
