DesignBuild Search is seeking a Structural Engineer for our client, a leading engineering consultancy based in Dublin 15.

Our client has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions.

You will be working on a variety of projects across the built environment, from residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare buildings to water retaining and wind farm infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Degree Level 8 in Civil Engineering or higher, preferably with a focus on Structural Engineering in the syllabus.
  • Chartered Engineer.
  • Between 6 and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the basics of mechanics and a strong grasp of complex structural design principles. Able to assist both graduate and design engineers in their understanding of mechanics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong ability to use finite element packages such as Autodesk Robot, Tekla Structural Designer, CADS A3D, and other standalone design packages, including CADS Masonry panel designer and Tedds Designs

Responsibilities: :

  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and tender assessments.
  • Designing Eurocodes for steel, timber, concrete, and masonry, including overseeing design tasks delegated to design engineers and graduate engineers.
  • Handling more complex designs such as deep foundations, transfer structures, torsional beams, and flat slabs.
  • Preparing calculation packages for hand-based and computer-based designs and checking calculations carried out by design engineers and graduate engineers.
  • Preparation of specification documents.
  • Overseeing the preparation of technical reports and collaborating with other disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Supervising the development of drawings, reviewing Navisworks and Revit models, and coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Effective communication with other members of the design team.
  • Following our quality management procedures, including timesheet management and mentoring junior team members in QMS procedures.
  • Adhering to our Safety Manual.
  • Preparation of designer assessment of risk forms and liaising with the PSDP.
  • Conducting site inspections, preparing BCAR reports, and assisting in ancillary certificate preparations.

**Qualifications**

**Requirements:**
+ BSc/MSc in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent with post graduate design experience with an Engineering consultancy.
+ Building structure design experience using all the main materials on a variety of structural projects
+ Highly motivated Engineer with previous consultancy experience
+ Experience in Eurocodes essential
+ Knowledgeable in finite element and frame analysis software for steel and RC frames, flat slabs, etc. (Tekla, SCIA, etc)

**Specific Requirements;**
+ Excellent knowledge of design in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steelwork.
+ Excellent working knowledge of the current Eurocodes and specifically Eurocode 2 & Eurocode 3.
+ Excellent working knowledge of Structural Analysis Software, SCIA, TEKLA or similar software.
+ Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs.
+ The ability to effectively communicate your message to the team, senior management and represent AECOM professionally to clients and external bodies.

*Irish Owned Engineering Consultancy with Irish and International Projects* We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 6-10+ years experience to join a medium sized well established civil and structural engineering consultancy in Galway. The successful Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design and management of a range of projects. Typical projects include mixed use developments, hotels, commercial, retail and residential developments. You will work on engineering challenging projects whilst having a good work life balance. This company offers a fantastic working environment in a great location. Sample of current Projects: Residential development consisting of 226 Units of houses & Apartments in Dublin Build-to-rent residential apartments 13 storeys consisting of 102 units + amenities and café in Dublin Various hotels in Dublin Projects range in values from €10m €00m+. Huge variety of projects across Ireland and internationally. Role / Requirements: Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or equivalent. 6-10+ years+ experience in the design of building projects. Ideally the successful Structural Engineer will be chartered or on the road to chartership. As Structural Engineer you will lead designer on a range of projects appropriate to your level of experience Familiar with Eurocodes/ British Standards Managing the workflow of structural analysis models/ BIM models Proficient in the use of structural design software, e.g., Robot, MasterSeries, SCIA, Tekla, etc Salary: Salary K - K+ doe Excellent bonus Generous Pension Flexible working hours Annual company overnight outings Paid Institute Membership Expenses Excellent CPD programme If you are a Structural Engineer considering a career move, please feel to send your cv CV or contact Alice Condon for a confidential discussion.
