This is an exciting time for Stantec as we look forward to continuing our growth journey in Northern Ireland and our exciting work on Northern Ireland Water's IF182 Professionals Services Framework. To support this growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Urban Drainage Modeller into our team in Belfast. This is an opportunity to help us deliver a great range of projects and join our reputable UDM team spread across the UK & Ireland.
As well as delivering work locally, you will have the opportunity to support Southern Water's AMP8 Professional Services Framework in delivering vital resilience and improvement schemes across the South of England. This includes identifying and designing nature-based solutions to improve water quality, reduce overflows, boost biodiversity, and spearhead best practices in hydraulic modelling, water recycling, and digital innovation.
Working closely with Technical Specialists, Framework Managers, Project Managers and Project Technical Leads, you will provide technical expertise and ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards.
You will play a key role in our urban drainage teams taking on multiple small projects or large programmes of work for our clients, along with opportunities to innovate service offerings and develop industry leading solutions. You will assist with bids and the preparation of cost estimates within our project frameworks.
The role will involve taking part in the planning, programming, and coordinating of urban drainage projects while ensuring delivery excellence, technical governance and best practices are upheld.
**About You**
To be considered for this opportunity you will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or other relevant subject, be a member of an industry relevant institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM and have previous experience leading projects in an urban drainage environment.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills through report writing, developing and delivering presentations (external and internal), and making contacts in the industry. You will also have experience in the management and development of staff as well as the ability to integrate well into a team and provide technical leadership to other modelling staff as a leader in an urban drainage environment with an excellent client service focus.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from Senior Electrical Engineers with experience in the water industry that may be interested in a move in the coming weeks and months. We are flexible with location so the position can be based in Dublin, Belfast or elsewhere across the island of Ireland.
You will be involved in the whole project life cycle from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support including site surveys and investigations. In line with our Communities of Practice approach, there are opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects including in water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure and environmental sectors.
As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will hold responsibility for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community. You will understand how water treatment processes operate and be experienced in assessing the existing electrical and ICA infrastructure to develop and deliver the EICA design.
Stantec provide a number of opportunities to learn and develop from colleagues across the whole UK business. You will also have the opportunity to help develop the group by acting as a mentor, line manager or guide to less experienced members within the team.
**About you**
You will be an Electrical Engineer with design experience and working toward (or already achieved) Chartership with IMechE.
You will be experienced in writing technical specifications, control philosophies, schedules, reports and be familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions.
You will be able to produce Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Network Infrastructure Diagrams as well as providing engineering input to collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.

By joining us, you will work daily with technical experts within our established Impact Assessment team which comprises over 170 staff across Ireland and the UK. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, whilst everything we do aligns with our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy.
As we are a national team, we are flexible in terms of office location - this includes offices **in Dublin, Cork and Galway** as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
At AECOM, we're at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of projects brought through long-term partnerships with key clients. This position offers an opportunity to manage environmental inputs to large-scale development projects that are transforming our infrastructure - this includes:
+ Energy generation projects, including renewables (solar farm and onshore windfarm projects), carbon capture and storage, and hydrogen;
+ Energy distribution and transmission projects;
+ Highway improvements and greenway projects;
+ Carbon capture pipelines;
+ Strategic national and regional rail projects;
+ Regeneration projects, including portside developments;
+ Developments within the e-commerce, minerals and waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial/ residential and industrial sectors.
Here's what you'll do:
+ **Provide Expertise:** As a **Principal Environmental Consultant** you'll manage environmental inputs to EIA Screening and Scoping reports, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports , Environmental Considerations Reports and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters. You'll be involved across project life stages, from early strategy development and site identification studies, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of conditions, construction, and scheme operation/ maintenance. You'll have the opportunity to work across a portfolio of development projects covering multiple consenting regimes (Local Authority applications, Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) etc.).
+ **Ensure Quality:** Your role requires a critical eye for detail to ensure that our deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards and compliance with our rigorous quality management procedures.
+ **Project Management:** Make effective use of your project management skills, appropriately managing resources and budgets (with support as applicable).
+ **Collaborate:** You will be working as part of integrated design teams to improve the environmental outcomes of our projects - you will identify environmental constraints, identify impact avoidance and mitigation solutions, as well as opportunities to deliver benefits.
+ **Client Contact:** Your role will require the management of client relationships and internal supply teams.
+ **Growth:** You will promote AECOM's environmental services to both internal and external audiences. You will identify and lead business development opportunities and associated fee and technical proposal development.

**Qualifications**
**Ready to push the limits of what's possible?**
Here's what we're looking for:
+ A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) and an appropriate professional membership (Chartered Environmentalists preferred).
+ Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience, with proven skills in managing the preparation of environmental reports and the technical review of specialist chapters.
+ A detailed understanding of relevant Irish consenting regimes and environmental legislation.
+ The ability to lead collaborative technical teams, coordinating inputs from technical specialists. Requires the ability to work closely with our clients and the provision of bespoke advice that helps clients to deliver their goals.
+ Project management skills, including programming, staff resource and budget management.
+ A commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
+ Interest in line management duties and staff mentoring.
+ Developing skills in leading business development opportunities.
+ Efficient verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing, and confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
