**Abbott Ireland Nutrition Division Cootehill Cavan**
Abbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae in all pack sizes under the brand name "Similac". To complement the range of "Similac" infant formulae, the facility also manufactures a range of follow on formulae under the brand name of "Gain". The essential ingredient is liquid skim milk and this is combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals. The product is blended, pasteurised, dried and packaged at the site and once packaged, is distributed to Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Canada.
Established in 1975, Abbott Nutrition in Ireland is the largest powder manufacturing facility for the production of infant formulae within the Abbott Corporation worldwide. Approximately 1,000 dairy farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland supply quality milk to the Cootehill facility which processes 500,000 litres per day. This secure supply together with Ireland's reputation as a green, clean environment is of significant strategic importance to Abbott Nutrition.
**Primary Function / Goals / Objectives**
+ The CAPA Specialist will report to the CAPA & Validation Manager.
+ Conduct weekly or more frequent CAPA meetings to track timelines and quality of Quality Records (QRs) and associated actions.
+ Provide Leadership and support on the Corrective and Preventative Action System to all plant personnel.
+ Report on monthly metrics with regard to CAPA and QRs.
+ Ensure that all appropriate site Quality CAPA metrics are recorded and verified.
+ Provide training to site subject matter experts and plant with regard to CAPA requirements as guided by division/corporate where required.
+ Review site QRs to ensure compliance to Rubric requirements and associated site and division policy requirements.
+ Collate CAPA information for site management review and area tier 3 information.
+ Provide guidance in management of unexpected manufacturing events, required bracketing and containment and associated sampling if required.
+ Complete Global CAPA review for impact to Cootehill site and support elevation process for site issues as required post QR approval.
+ Support the QA CAPA IT System (ABTRAQ) through which investigations and CAPA's are documented. This also involves the development and support of plant SME's and general users.
+ Liaise with other plant CAPA Specialists in Community of Practice meetings to address global concerns on CAPA opportunities/systems.
+ Food Safety Team member - actively participating in Food Safety Team meetings, as required.
+ Participate in internal audits and compliance walkdowns.
+ Complete related projects as required.
+ This Job function will change where updates to procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical / New Equipment, Quality Procedures & SOP's are made.
+ This list of responsibilities may change depending on plant needs and employees are expected to be adaptable and flexible where this need arises.
+ Support QA team in other responsibilities/projects as required and when the need arises.
+ Support QA team with internal and external audits (including pre-audit preparation) surrounding the CAPA Process.
+ Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety Rules and Regulations in the plant.
+ Report any current or potential hazards to your manager immediately.
+ Wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) at all times. Consult the appropriate SOP where required.
+ This function has the responsibility for reviewing all SOP's for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure he/she fully understands and adheres to the SOP.
**Major Responsibilities**
+ The CAPA Specialist will review all Quality Records (QRs). Will provide leadership and direction for QR initiation and root cause analysis.
+ The CAPA Specialist shall ensure that site Quality CAPA Metrics are recorded and reported as needed.
**Education Required**
+ A Diploma/Degree level education - science/engineering qualification an advantage.
**Knowledge**
+ At least three years manufacturing experience in a quality assurance function within a regulated environment.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and very good computer literacy.
+ Ability to work as an effective member of a high performance team.
**Accountability / Scope**
+ This function will have the responsibility to ensure that Quality Records (QRs) are completed and that leadership and direction for QR initiation and root cause are complete. Will ensure that monthly Metrics are recorded and reported out as required. The impact of ineffective reporting may have implications on plant operations and compliance requirements.

**The Role**
As a Validation Engineer you will work within the Packing Department Projects division supporting a team of Project Engineers in the delivery of improvements to help integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area, through the creation of documents and execution of validation work in compliance with current regulatory and company requirements. The successful candidate will report directly to the Packing Principal Programme Manager.
**Major Responsibilities**
- Provide direction, documentation, execution and review for project validation activities.
- Develop project validation documentation during the FEP process and throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Responsible for the creation of validation packages and review of all validation protocols and packages related to assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, adherence to quality and efficiency goals and departmental budget performance.
**Primary Function / Goals / Objectives**
- Responsible for supporting plant capital projects as assigned.
- Support Snr Project Engineers with the development of project documentation. - Development and execution of validation protocols (FAT, DQ, IQ, OQ PQ).
- Execution of change controls.
- Management of any project associated Quality issues and CAPA's.
- Work closely with Snr Project Engineers to ensure the work being undertaken is correctly documented in advance and the validation implications have been considered.
- Attend weekly Validation Review meetings with other engineers from around the site and the Quality/Validation Manager to ensure co-ordination of effort and minimising of unforeseen impacts.
- Liaise with internal engineering project co-ordination team, consultants, subcontractors, supervisors and the general workforce involved in the project to ensure full compliance with solution requirements.
- Responsible for the creation of validation packages and review of all validation protocols and packages related to assigned projects
- Utilise QA IT Systems (M-FILES) through which Validation Change Control is documented.
- Provide direction, documentation, execution and review for project validation activities.
- Develop project validation documentation during the FEP process and throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Work closely with the Validation and Manufacturing Team.
- Work closely with project equipment vendors to obtain information to successfully specify requirements for plant and facility.
- Ensure compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, adherence to quality and efficiency goals and departmental budget performance.
- It is a requirement to have experience and knowledge on Validation and CAPA Policies or FDA regulations in relation to validation.

**Education Required**

- Good mental ability to logically follow a line of though for problem solving. Accountability / Scope
- Considerable and continual care and attention is needed to avoid substantial damage to equipment.
- Continual attention needed to ensure plant reaches its annual production plan. - Failure on the incumbent part not to exercise due care could cause repeated small losses or occasional damage.

- The Food Safety Specialist provides guidance and direction of plant sanitation for manufacturing operations, warehouse and plant grounds.

- Driving and implementing holistic plant sanitation programs, policies and procedures for plant, warehouse and plant grounds; Assuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and all food safety policies and procedures
- Acting as sanitation support in the process of assessing and mitigating safety risk associated with construction and major maintenance.
- Collaborate/Coordinate with Facility Supervisor, Operations Leadership, Operations Associates and Site Cleaning staff to achieve desired Environmental Monitoring performance and Pest Control performance
- Evaluating facility sanitary conditions, assessing risk based on food safety and public health principles, prioritizing corrective actions, and verifying sanitation activities and validation testing
- Evaluating monthly environmental samples for monitoring of pathogenic organisms in plant, trending the results and developing corrective actions
- Conformance to master cleaning schedule and applicable cGMP guidelines, best practices and requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing all sanitation related training for sanitation and plant employees as needed;
- Ensures all safety requirements related to sanitation are met including proper
chemical storage, MSDS, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and procedures.
- Maintaining and writing detailed clean up procedures and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures for all plant equipment, driving towards reduced water and air usage.
**Education & Experience**
You will have BSc a in plant quality/food safety/Sanitation with a minimum of 3yrs experience in a similar role with demonstrated Leadership skills (direct or cross functionally leadership skills)
Certification as a Sanitarian and Pesticide Application is an advantage for this role
**Key Skills:**
- Understanding and application of microbiological principles with in depth food borne pathogen knowledge.
- Knowledge of HACCP, Sanitation principles and Food Safety Preventive Controls (FSPC)
- Understanding of the appropriate wet cleaning and dry cleaning methodology.

+ The Management Accountant is responsible for consulting any SOP's for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.
+ Housekeeping is a critical function of all jobs and the Management Accountant is expected to ensure all housekeeping activities in their work area are observed and carried out appropriately. It is important they are in adherence to the Housekeeping SOP.
+ It is important that GMP is a main priority in any operation carried out in this job function.
+ Ensure month end reporting is carried out efficiently and as timely as possible.
+ Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with Abbott Policy and regulatory policies.
+ Provide financial support to other departments to assist in goal achievements.
+ Monitor inventory accuracy/physical inventory/monthly cycle counts. Maintain and ensure activity-based analysis (ABC) for cycle counting is updated.

+ Manage and co-ordinate raw materials packing reports.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Analyse material usage for variances relating to Raw Materials, Powder and Packing materials.
+ Work with operations teams to review usage variances and corrective actions to improve data accuracy as required.
+ Participate in process improvement teams relating to material usage control and LEAN to drive greater data accuracy and reporting and reduce cost of production.
+ Assist in preparing plans/LBE's quarterly/yearly and load to external systems and tie out to local records.
+ Ensure relevant monthly reconciliations are prepared and approved.
+ Provide finance support to site in relation to projects, new products etc.
+ Provide detailed BOM analysis for new product launches.
+ Provide full costing analysis for plant expansion opportunities or other RCEs for the site.
+ Track cost changes and scenario differences throughout RCE approval cycle as requested.
+ S&OP review and absorption projections for LBE's.
+ Ownership of standard cost setting processes and calculation including milk and protein analysis, integration of overheads and development of monthly absorption for plan, and reconciliation to in batch system.
+ Responsible for completion of SCOP, standard to standard and actual to actual analysis, product cost change analysis.
+ Finance Representative for Pier Process, Work with Project Managers on Trial cost estimates, recharging and tracking costs.
+ Finance Representative on NPI (New Product Intro) Team.
+ Work with Operations and Technical Teams on estimating cost improvement opportunities.
+ Coordinate and provide data for Internal & External Auditors.
+ Annual Physical Stock-take Co-ordination and Reconciliation for the Site and offsite warehouses.
+ Month end analysis of OCNIS, Distressed Inventory, Overtime/Payroll, Tech Centre costs.
+ Month end journals including MUV, CIP and transfer journal and others as required.
+ Complete month end schedules such as CSO - Payroll, MBR, Overtime, CAR reporting.
+ Prepare performance statements and conduct variance analysis with controller. Load results to external systems.
**EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED**
+ Third level relevant qualification - Accountancy qualification required with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA designation.
+ 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry.
+ 3 years of experience in a cost accounting position.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.

**Major Responsibilities**
+ Interfaces with the Technical and Commerical organisation to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area. Manage the validation & introduction of these changes ensuring all launch activities are completed on time and in full with no impact to product cost or quality.
+ Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tool and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce low OEE's, non-conforming products and low yields.
+ Direct responsibility of the manufacturing organisation to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimise human resources, existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met.
+ Leads all Capital management activities in the department, ensuring all project managers manage their budgets and implement on time and in full, without impacting daily production activities.
**Primary Function / Goals / Objectives**
+ Follow all Health and Safety Rules and Regulations in the plant.
+ Maintain plant safety at the highest level with a zero accident target and with immediate response and thorough investigation and corrective action for all hazardous occurrences and accidents.
+ It is important that GMP is a main priority in any operation carried out in this job function.
+ The Principle Projects Manager is responsible for consulting any SOP's for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.
+ Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes and co-ordinating the selection process with human resources.
+ Develop direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
+ Monitors daily work operations and provides direction and guidance to lower - level managers, experienced employees to achieve project goals.
+ Oversees the project management activity in the department by closely monitoring all Capital, PIER, OEE, Quality and other project related initiatives ensuring all are implemented compliantly, on time, in full and within budget.
+ Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.
+ Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organisation unit.
+ Monitors internal and external indicators by reviewing reports and organisation literature, meeting with peers and reading departmental reports.
+ Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budget through regular analysis of cost and spending.
+ Participates in validation activity. Role may vary between providing input to owning activities such as protocol/report writing and managing execution of validation activities.
+ This job function will change where update procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical/New Equipment, Quality procedures and SOPs are made.
+ Managing new product launch / first lot to stock to ensure release is on time and in full.
+ Manager to several Project Engineers
+ Provides direction and guidance to managers, experienced technical individuals, evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for subordinates.
**Education Required**
+ Required: National Framework of Qualification (Level 7 qualification) in Business, Science, Food Technology or Engineering with 7+ years' experience in manufacturing leadership role. Preferred: Advanced Degree / Masters in Business, Science, Food Technology or Engineering. Greenbelt / Blackbelt certified.

+ Monitors progress of individuals, teams, managers or technical individuals towards departmental goals, monitoring costs of projects and compliance to related regulations.

This position is involved in the overall lifecycle of capital assets (designing, delivering, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning) in the most productive and cost-effective manner.
Manage the preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage maintenance line support, manage/support the department and plant maintenance budgets, coordinate plant shutdown assignments, provide capital project input and support as well as overseeing the maintenance resources necessary to assure the production plan is met and/or exceeded while maintaining a zero-incident quality/safety mindset, teamwork attitude and excellent customer service. Process Maintenance manager will oversee all maintenance operations, from routine inspections to emergency repairs, ensuring that every piece of machinery is in top working condition. They prevent costly downtime and ensure product quality through proper equipment maintenance.

+ Manage department finances within the annual organizational plan.
+ Deputise for other Engineers, project managers and front line leaders in their absence.

+ Deputize for the Manufacturing Manager when required.
+ Maintain a positive employee relations atmosphere. Ensure that there is good communication and co-operation by encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas within the Plant.
+ Manage team effectively through coaching and counselling where appropriate lead by example at all times.
+ Get cost estimates for capital projects as required.
+ Prepare RCEs as required.
+ Train, direct and supervise staff.
+ Provide Manufacturing Manager with status report of all projects, as required including KPIs.
+ Act as a SME (Subject Matters Expert) for specific tasks e.g. ER, CAPA Systems.
+ Participate in Personal Learning and Development.
+ Ensure continued implementation of the Performance Excellence initiative completing all goals, performance reviews and growth plans accordingly.

The facilities industrial operative is accountable for the smooth execution of all appropriate functions associated with external maintenance and cleaning tasks across site.
He/She will contribute to the high performance culture within the integrated facilities management function by providing a flexible, accurate service to enable the team to achieve key deliverables.
He/She is an active member of the integrated facilities management function providing support, guidance and expertise.
**Site Compliance:**
+ Required to comply with client global policies, procedures, guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current good manufacturing practice in the performance of day to day activities and all applicable job functions.
+ Complete site training and keep up to date with the latest operational procedures.
+ Work collaboratively to drive a safe and compliant culture
**Safety / EHS Responsibility:**
+ Attend CBRE toolbox talks
+ Work with a culture of EHS excellence at facility and provide high-quality safety, health and welfare technical approach to assigned operations.
+ Work with site permitting and compliance strategies.
**Complete assigned IFM works:**
+ Complete assigned external maintenance and Helpdesk tasks.
+ Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, road sweepers and pressure washers.

+ Perform routine external cleaning tasks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
+ To respond to emergency requests across the site where a building maintenance activity is required. This includes (but is not limited to) building fabric damage, spills, leaks, drain blockages.

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB:**
The **Process Manager's** main responsibilities will include;
+ Ensure that both they and everyone under their direction follow all Health and Safety Rules and Regulations in the plant.
+ Report any current or potential hazards to your immediate manager immediately
+ Consulting any SOP's for all tasks he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.

+ Manages and executes complex projects in a highly regulated, quality-controlled food manufacturing environment with specialist Evaporation and Spray Drying equipment for infant formula manufacturing.
+ Models manufacturing and automated processes in the process area in order to maximise understanding within the function.
+ Oversight, coaching and capability development of the technical team within the Value stream
+ that Ensures that all new equipment is validated as per QA procedures.
+ Calculates and organizes all data for complex process flow sheets, including instrumentation and control considerations. Ensures proper sequence of operation and prepares specifications and operating instructions for processing equipment.
+ Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, pressure and viscosity, etc.
+ Services, troubleshoots, and solves engineering problems with processes or equipment via a cross-functional structured problem-solving approach.
+ Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ May be responsible for corrective and preventive actions, and investigation management.
+ Develops, communicates, and implements operational plans for completing complex specialist projects in the area.
+ Takes pro-active action to resolve operational problems and minimize downtime.
+ Participates in selecting and managing the activities of contractors to ensure they are integrated into the relevant projects and the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Food Process Engineering or equivalent discipline.
+ Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Engineering.
+ Prior experience in a Dairy/Food Process Engineering role is very desirable
+ Knowledge of Spray drying operations and/or Evaporation is desirable
+ Knowledge or experience in Thermal processing of Dairy based products is desirable
+ Knowledge or experience in Powder conveying systems.
+ Knowledge or experience in ATEX rated environments and their constraints
+ Experienced in highly Automated Manufacturing Environments with a solid understanding of pharma/food processing equipment is essential.
+ The ability to organize, motivate and understand teams
+ Good mental ability to logically pursue a structured problem-solving approach.
