Senior Accountant
to join a highly regarded firm in Cork. In this role, you will take ownership of client portfolios, provide strategic guidance, and play a key part in shaping the future direction of the practice. Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to a varied client base, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Oversee preparation of financial statements in line with FRS102 and IFRS.
- Manage corporation tax and income tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure all submissions to Revenue and the Companies Registration Office (CRO) are fully compliant.
- Conduct detailed file reviews to maintain quality and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and support junior accountants, fostering growth and team performance.
- Identify client challenges and provide practical, tailored solutions that add real business value.
The Ideal Candidate
- Fully qualified accountant with at least 2 years' PQE.
- Proven experience within practice, ideally managing a portfolio of clients.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS102 and IFRS.
- Commercially aware with a clear understanding of client needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a strong advantage.

What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to project tasks and milestones, organizing work to meet deadlines.
- Support the shared services site team and direct reports, ensuring effective communication with internal and external business professionals.
- Adhere to compliance and controls, supporting Corporate Audit and capturing necessary information for review.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and market approvers to manage exceptions and approvals.
- Review healthcare contract standards for external professionals, ensuring customer needs and relationships are proactively fulfilled and enhanced.
- Perform period-end financial close activities, meeting all related deadlines.
- Develop financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data to meet management requests.
- Identify key groups or positions for regular interaction and assist in the timely delivery of standardized financial processes on behalf of Pfizer.
- Learn and apply basic team effectiveness skills within the immediate Work Team.
- Make decisions within limited options to resolve basic problems, with limited decision-making authority, working under the supervisor's direction.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with any years of experience, or an Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English speaking and writing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Pharmaceutical industry or contracts experience
- System application & products / Oracle experience
- Good organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
