Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Accounting to help lead our corporate accounting and general ledger function. This is a high impact role that offers an outstanding opportunity to be part of a dynamic group. Your expertise will help drive flawless execution in operational accounting and you will bring subject matter expertise that will help build and lead a best in class accounting organization. You will oversee the accounting and controls for the General Ledger accounting and the related impact on the Company's systems and processes and ensure that business processes are delivered with velocity and accurately.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.
**Key Responsibilities**
Corporate Accounting and GL Operations
+ Provide direction over the Corporate Accounting function that oversees routine accounting operations to ensure transactions are accounted for accurately and in accordance with US GAAP
+ Drive and manage an effective financial statement close process on a monthly basis to drive operational excellence and accuracy. Identify areas to improve through automation and /or simplification
+ Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies
+ Be unafraid to roll up your sleeves and embrace the details. Work with the team to ensure account reconciliations and other related deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and timely. Lead by example and ensure all deliverables are reviewed and appropriately inspected
+ Provide coaching and direction to the members of the team based in India. You will focus on the development of their technical skillsets and ensure business processes are executed accurately and in a consistent and scalable manner
+ Assist in the preparation of disclosure schedules supporting the SEC filings (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K)
+ Represent the corporate controllership organization in special projects and be a strong and effective partner to your key stakeholders within the FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other cross functional teams
**Coaching for impact and performance**
+ Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to the global accounting team and manage your team to perform effectively and deliver high impact
+ Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting team and among key cross-functional stakeholders by establishing clear ownership, communication protocols, and alignment on deliverables and timelines
+ You have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple, high priority initiatives and can help your team prioritize work to deliver at velocity and maximum business impact
+ Enable a culture of career development and growth. Work with each member of the team to develop growth plans to ensure your employees develop professionally and deepen their core competencies
**Operational Excellence**
+ Design, enhance, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements
+ Support efforts that aim to standardize general ledger processes and increase efficiencies across the globally distributed team
+ Special projects as defined and needed.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA or Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) license preferred
+ Minimum of 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a high-growth, US based multinational public company environment
+ Experience managing teams that are distributed globally, working with center of excellence delivery models, and influencing those who may not directly report to you
+ Big 4 public accounting experience with a focus on U.S. public company clients is preferred
+ Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
+ Proven leadership and team management skills
+ Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
+ Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
+ Significant project management skills required

6. Design and implement scalable accounting processes related to month-end and quarter-end financial close
7. Ensure compliance with key controls and audit requirements, including close coordination with both external and internal auditors
