Job Description
Patient Care:
Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in critical condition.Monitor and assess patient vital signs, symptoms, and conditions continuously.Administer medications, treatments, and life-support care.Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement patient care plans.Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results to provide accurate and timely information to physicians.Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.Perform advanced life support procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation.Ensure readiness and proper functioning of all emergency equipment.Patient Monitoring and Documentation:
Use advanced monitoring equipment to track patient status and progress.Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment administered and patient responses.Document all care activities accurately and timely in patient medical records.Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and progress.Infection Control and Safety:
Adhere to strict infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections.Ensure a safe and clean working environment.Follow all health and safety regulations and protocols.Professional Development:
Stay current with the latest advancements in critical care nursing and medical practices.Participate in continuing education programs and professional development activities.Mentor and train junior nursing staff and students.Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing qualification. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Experience: Proven experience working in a critical care or intensive care setting. Additional certifications in critical care nursing (e.g., CCRN) are advantageous.
