FAAS addresses the CFO's agenda and provides CFOs, controllers, treasurers and audit committees with insight and services to support compliance with evolving financial requirements and help provide transparency and trust in reporting to support better decision-making. We also help to support finance functions with robust financial data analytics and innovation through our tools.

The FAAS team specialises in supporting our clients in delivering accounting and regulatory change, and implementing finance transformation. FAAS operates within a global and EMEIA network across EY.

Your Key Responsibilities
Within FAAS, you'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary and high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive experience helping financial services organisations solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution in one or more of the following areas:

  • Research and develop solutions to complex technical accounting and/or regulatory issues;
  • Keep up to date with industry, regulatory and accounting change to proactively develop and present solutions to our clients and potential clients;
  • Work with our client's financial and regulatory reporting teams to help deliver insights from financial information and to improve reporting processes;
  • Lead the delivery of technical support on ad-hoc accounting and regulatory queries from clients and teams in other service lines and across EMEIA;
  • Assist clients with the implementation of new and revised accounting standards, GAAP conversions and regulatory change;
  • Lead the planning, execution and delivery of engagements including those involving large scale financial and accounting change or complex transactions in in large Finance functions;
  • Lead junior team members effectively, providing support and guidance whilst acting as the key point of contact with senior leaders;
  • Leverage technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery; and
  • Build strong internal relationships within Assurance and across the other service lines we work with and support.

Skills, experience & qualifications needed:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major (including Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance);
  • ACA or ACCA certification is desired but not a pre-requisite;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an auditor for a public accounting firm, and/or industry experience; and
  • Excellent project management skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluent English

Your key responsibilities

  • Growing the finance optimisation business by actively pursuing new business opportunities, client contacts and areas of growth;
  • Networking & representing the FAAS practice at events, client seminars and similar;
  • Leading the day to day delivery on client engagement projects to maintain quality and our promise for exceptional service delivery to all our clients;
  • Client management and liaison with senior client stakeholders with a view to build strong working relationships with our clients.
  • Managing performance of junior team members through on the job coaching, mentoring and providing constructive and timely performance feedback;
  • Liaison with other EY teams and Service lines, is necessary, to ensure seamless solution to our clients;
  • Keeping engagement leaders updated on progress on the engagement and bringing to their attention any issues in a timely manner with proposed solutions;

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, analytical, logical thinkers with a passion for innovation and creating better ways of working with our clients and have a very strong attention to detail to join our growing team.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Accountancy qualified (ACCA / ACA / CPA / CA or Equivalent).
  • A minimum of 10 years post qualified experience.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS, and FRS 102.
  • Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management knowledge.
  • Experience in finance process optimisation, including controls and process design and ideally experience in the adoption of technology tools or automations including RPA, OCR, Process Mining, Blackline, PowerBI, Oracle Cloud, SAP/S4,

Ideally, you will also have

  • US GAAP and SOX knowledge.
  • Proven ability and interest in business development & networking.
  • Proven ability to work on complex accounting issues and transactions and an ability to clearly articulate the advice in written deliverables.
  • Proven experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on engagements.
  • Good working knowledge of finance governance and reporting, finance operations, processes and internal controls.
  • Industry experience.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness.

Job Description
Turner & Townsend is seeking a dynamic Director to lead our Advisory & Contract Services Business Unit in Ireland. Reporting directly to the Managing Director Ireland, this role is pivotal in driving growth and excellence in procurement and contract services for our global clients in Europe.The purpose of the job is to oversee and manage client relationships, identify new business pursuits, lead the team, and oversee financial management.

  • Team Organisation – leadership, oversight of recruitment interviews, resource planning/deployment, staff competency development, organizing mentoring and support.
  • Financial management – budgeting, monthly forecasting, staff utilisation, WIP, job profitability, monthly invoicing and forecast against plan.
  • Business Management – lead assurance, quality reviews, processes and systems to be utilised to support the successful, compliant delivery of our projects. Including Commission Execution Planning & Risk Management etc
  • Manage our Key Account programmes – oversee and support Key Client Leads plan and deliver key account activities, including knowledge shares, relationship management, new opportunity generation.
  • Pipeline planning, bid leadership, bid writing and supporting the team deliver winning bids.
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities through Key Client Leads within Infrastructure and Real Estate teams.

Qualifications

  • Development and delivery of Portfolio, Programme and Project Procurement Strategies.
  • Review, appraisal and recommendation of contract strategies, contract forms including NEC, FIDIC, local Industry Forms.
  • Detailed understanding of Contract Management processes and procedures.
  • Appraisal of contract claims and disputes and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Good leadership skills, including delegation, time management and prioritisation of tasks.
  • Ability to develop long term relationships based on performance and trust.
  • Ability to deliver business goals and financial targets.
  • Ability to manage large and dispersed teams to achieve team members and business goals.

**Summary of Role:**
+ Bring a good understanding of the Financial Crime Advisory role having worked in similar capacity earlier
+ Lead advisory engagement constructing business operating model, cost benefit analysis and business process modelling
+ Engage business users to capture and document business process models using industry standard frameworks and tools
+ Translate business requirements into actionable change for fast delivery of technology. Ensure rigour in the process by challenging and validating the business needs to improve the quality of the deliverables
Responsibilities of the role:
+ Engage with business users, understand problem statement and agree scope of engagement
+ Interview product owners to understand as-is business processes and then develop customer-driven to-be processes
+ Support the Business by documenting process models and identify opportunities for improvement
+ Ability to map customer experience using tools like personas, customer journeys etc.
+ Gather and analyse statistical data from the business areas for supporting business case for change
+ Research and analyse best in class industry processes to support digitization & simplification of customer journeys
+ Support the Business in planning and designing digital strategies encouraging customer retention and customer loyalty
+ Bring in industry experience and thought leadership to advise on trends, future operating models and best in class journeys
+ Develop a deep understanding of the business context and marketplace that our business stakeholders are operating in
+ Employ process modelling techniques to capture requirements. Work hand-in-hand with the Product Owner and Development teams in order to deliver process improvements
+ Work with multiple product owners to write & develop clear, non-implementation specific epics, user stories and acceptance criteria
+ Support and contribute to the metrics driven culture within our function
**Experience and skills required**
+ Experience working on an end-to-end Financial Crime implementation program (operating model, governance structure, process and technology delivery)
+ Experience working on Financial Crime (AML, Fraud, Global Sanctions) technology solutions like NetReveal, Detica, Fenergo and/or Hotscan.
+ Business analysis skillset - ability to manage client workshops, process modeling, requirements gathering, stakeholder management
+ Financial services experience is a definite plus having worked in banking or similar organisations
+ A strong background in retail financial services advisory (preferably change management / regulatory projects experience) and a proven ability to quickly understand the business strategy and objectives
+ 2.1 or higher in a related discipline from an academic institution; Masters a plus
