Air & Ocean Freight Team Manager
to lead and optimize our international freight forwarding operations. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the performance and strategy of our air and ocean freight services, ensuring seamless coordination, and delivering operational excellence across global trade lanes, for our customers.
It will include leading the strategic and day-to-day management of global air and ocean freight operations as well as,
· Build and manage relationships with carriers, customs agents, and third-party service providers.
· Develop routing and pricing strategies to ensure competitive and cost-effective transportation solutions.
· Oversee compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal policies.
· Work closely with Sales & Operations teams to align logistics capabilities with Business needs.
· Implement performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives in service delivery and transit times.
· Mentor and develop a team of freight professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
· Analyse data and market trends to inform operational decisions and future planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in international logistics, with a strong focus on air and ocean freight.
Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
In-depth knowledge of Incoterms, HS Codes, customs clearance processes, and international trade compliance.
Proficiency in logistics systems and software.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Lead by example in upholding the Company's Values & Pillars, at all times.
Positive 'can do' attitude and highly ambitious approach.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Freight Forwarder will have overall responsibility for managing day to day coordination and management of a number of operations. They should excel at management through delegating tasks and should demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for all Road, Oceans and Air operational efficiencies including working as a team leader, liaising with clients, coordinating and managing day-to-day allocation of duties.
We are seeking a Fine Art Shipping Coordinator with at least 1 year of experience in air import/export and/or customs. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of high-value artwork and artifacts during transport, both locally and internationally. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, the operations team, and customs authorities to coordinate the seamless movement of fine art shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
•Coordinate the end-to-end logistics of fine art shipments, including air imports/exports, customs clearance, and transportation.
•Act as the main point of contact for clients (private collectors, galleries, museums) to ensure all needs are met.
•Prepare and review shipping documentation, including air waybills, export/import paperwork, and customs declarations.
•Liaise with customs authorities and ensure compliance with all regulations, including import/export procedures for fine art.
•Coordinate with internal teams (operations, drivers, and technicians) to ensure smooth execution of transport and installation.
•Prepare estimates for transportation, packing, crating, and customs services, providing clients with accurate timelines and costs.
•Maintain meticulous records of all shipments, including tracking details and documentation for customs purposes.
•Troubleshoot any logistical issues that arise during the transportation process and provide solutions.
•Support the operations team with invoicing, reporting, and other administrative tasks.
Candidate Profile:
•At least 1 year of experience in air import/export or customs, ideally within the fine art or logistics industry.
•Strong knowledge of customs procedures and regulations, including familiarity with import/export documentation.
•Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
•Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
•Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with shipping and customs software.
•Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment where priorities may shift.
•Supporting the Ops Team in anything else as is required.
NUMBER OF YEARS PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a freight forwarder is essential
- Knowledge of the Road and air industry, good relationship with air and shipping lines
- Excellent communication skills and customer centric attitude
- Relevant qualification
- Dangerous Goods knowledge is an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of customs clearance and relevant formalities
- Knowledge of Thyme IT system
- Hands on approach and ability to meet deadlines and maintain priorities
· High level of IT proficiency and working knowledge of the following packages: Email, Internet, MS Word , Excel, PowerPoint

- Experience in transport planning/ managing haulier's routes.
- Management experience would be an advantage
- Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Word)
- Proficiency in the English language alongside eligibility to work in Ireland
- Require strong customer service orientation, highly motivated, with strong business acumen and sound interpersonal skills
