About The Role
EPS Group require a Technician for our Product Assembly Workshop in Mountrath. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of pumps and motors in the water or similar industry. This hands-on role will involve the assembly and repair both mechanically and electrically for our range of assembled water treatment, pumping and boosting products.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring sufficient kanban stocks are in place for the sales team
• Assembling booster pumps & water treatment filters (Mechanically & Electrically)
• Picking and distributing material in a systematic manner
• Testing products prior to shipping
• Packing pumps, parts, water treatment components and any associated parts for shipment
• Regular interaction with the sales team and customers
• Support branches and sales team with queries as required
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area whilst complying with health and safety practices
• Comply with and fill out Health & Safety documentation
• Maintenance of the ERP Shop floor system

This role involves the assembly of medical devices in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for following detailed instructions manuals to assemble medical devices, which may involve assembling small components, soldering, and operating machinery.

Duties to include

• Assembling medical devices, parts, or equipment using hand or power tools
• Performing quality control inspections to identify any defects or malfunctions
• Testing the functionality of assembled devices to ensure they are working properly
• Maintaining records of assembled devices, including their specifications and test results

The ideal candidate is technically minded and has experience in the assembly and/or maintenance of agricultural machinery. They will have a good knowledge of electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, air brakes and the components of machinery. They will have excellent work ethic and attention to detail.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Perform machine building and mechanical assembly of precision equipment according to technical specifications.
• Interpret technical assembly drawings and equipment manuals to ensure accurate assembly.
• Conduct dismantling, repair, rework, and fitting of new parts when performing maintenance.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Working knowledge and skills in assembly and repairs of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, belts & pulleys etc.
• Experience in pneumatics is preferred.
• Proficiency with workshop machines such as lathes, manual milling machines, surface grinders, etc.
• Preferably qualified as a mechanic, toolmaker, or fitter.
• Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring accuracy and precision in work.
• A passion/strong interest in engineering is essential.

I. BASIC PURPOSE:

The Magnetics Prototype Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing prototype magnetic components and systems for research and development projects. The role requires a hands-on technician with expertise in precision assembly, electrical testing, and troubleshooting of magnetic devices. You will work closely with engineers and designers to ensure the successful fabrication of prototypes for advanced magnetic systems.

II. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):

• Prototype Assembly: Assemble and modify magnetic prototypes, including coils, transformers, inductors, and magnetic materials, following detailed instructions and blueprints.
• Soldering and Wiring: Perform precision soldering, wiring, and component placement on circuit boards and magnetic assemblies.
• Testing & Calibration: Conduct electrical and mechanical testing on magnetic prototypes, ensuring proper functionality, performance, and adherence to specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues during assembly or testing phases, including electrical faults, mechanical failures, or design-related problems.
• Collaboration with Engineering Team: Work closely with engineers to review assembly procedures, provide feedback on design feasibility, and recommend improvements based on testing outcomes.

EDUCATION:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent

• Experience in prototype development for magnetic systems, transformers, or inductors.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrable experience in electronics assembly, magnetic device assembly, or related fields.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with PCB assembly and soldering techniques (including surface mount and though-hole) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings preferred.

OTHER SKILLS:

• Mechanical Dexterity: Skilled in working with small components and precise assembly, including the use of hand tools and specialized equipment.
