What You Will Achieve

Working with Pfizer's dynamic Automation and Engineering team, the Automation Technician will be working on our manufacturing equipment including our DeltaV Distributed Control System, our Vendor Package Equipment, multiple SCADA Platforms, a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), embedded controllers and supporting IT systems.

Reporting to an Automation Manager, this role is part of the core Engineering Team, supporting site sustaining activities & delivering on key Continuous improvement projects as required.

As an Automation Technician, your knowledge and skills will contribute towards the goals and objectives of the site. Your ability to support our customers POR targets will help in completing critical site deliverables. Your innovative use of communication tools and techniques will facilitate in explaining difficult issues and establishing consensus between teams.

How You Will Achieve It

  • This will be 24/7 shift-based role on site at Grange Castle. Note: may require a period on Monday / Friday regular days initially during training.
  • This role will be to provide Automation support to our site Customers at Grange Castle.
  • Must be solutions orientated, delivery focused and passionate about supporting production with technical support solutions.

  • Ensure that the necessary Automation skills are acquired to support wide range of equipment and technologies i.e. (Delta V DCS) Honeywell systems and Vendor Package Equipment PLCs SCADA PLE Automation IT.

  • Complete assigned improvement projects to deliver more efficient operations through continuous improvement initiatives (as required).

  • Carry out preventative, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on Automation systems, completing all associated paperwork and records.

  • Keep the process equipment running without impact to safety.

  • Support biannual and periodic reviews (as required).

  • Ensure that work performed is accurately documented, completed on time, efficiently and in compliance with corporate policies, Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, and Regulatory Agency requirements.
  • Available to assist engineers if required in delivering projects in accordance with site procedures.
  • Maintaining the validated state of the automation systems.
  • Providing training and technical support to customers & technicians.
  • Flexibility to work different Shift Patterns as the business requires.
  • Any other activities as directed by the Area Lead.

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Various backgrounds eligible, for example trade background (Electrician) or a relevant Engineering qualification or Certificate in Manufacturing Technology or Mechanical / Automation Engineering, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics.
  • Automation experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Proven ability of working in cross functional teams with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong technical background is essential for this role. Experience in some of the following desirable. (PLC, SCADA, DeltaV (DCS), GAMP, GMP).
  • Experience supporting Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with basic networking.

Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field with substantial experience within a sustaining or project environment.
  • Knowledge of ISA95 and ISA88 design / implementation.
  • Experience of databases technologies including SQL Server.
  • General familiarity with virtualization technologies and IT skills.
  • Experience delivering or supporting solutions across all stages of the computer systems lifecycle (Stages : design, development, validation, deployment, sustaining).
  • Knowledge of Portable Laboratory Equipment.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical or GMP experience.
  • Knowledge of site operations.

39 Hours per week Overview of the role; The automation technician will work with the Veolia Maintenance and Calibration team. He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering and equipment vendors for all issues relating to the automated systems in assigned building, i.e. BMS, QBMS, MCS, and VPE. About your new job as :
