The Solution Architect for Identity & Access plays a strategic role in bridging technical expertise with business needs. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence in customer engagements by supporting sales cycles, scoping complex integrations, mapping APIs, and delivering architectural design guidance. Act as a technical advocate internally and externally, contributing to solution blueprints and reference architectures. Experience Minimum of 5 years in software architecture or solution design, with at least 3 years in identity and access management (IAM) or SaaS platforms. Hands-on experience designing solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments. Proven track record supporting enterprise sales cycles, including RFIs, RFQs, and technical workshops. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Skills Strong technical knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, OAuth2, SAML, SCIM, and modern identity protocols. Expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerized services. Proficiency with architecture modeling tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, Ability to craft technical documents, solution proposals, and presentations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable Competencies Experience with modern development environments, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and DevSecOps practices. Overview
The Mastercard Technology Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team supports the lifecycle of M&A activities, from strategic company/partner evaluation, through due diligence, to the guidance and support of integrations. The M&A Commercial Architect (CA) team is accountable for overseeing and driving the commercial technical workstream from an architecture and solutions perspective
RESPONSIBILITIES:
CONSULT TECHNICAL DUE DILIGENCE FOR MASTERCARD ACQUISITIONS AND INVESTMENTS
Technical Due Diligence is completed on all potential acquisition target companies. As a M&A CA you will partner with the A&T Program Manager, Technical Architect (TA), M&A TA and ONE M&A Program Manager and be responsible for all things technical from the commercial workstream of this phase.
Due diligence includes partnering with the target company, Mastercard Operations Network & Employee Experience, Architecture and Technology, Security, Developer Tools and Experiences, Business Operations, Global Customer Care, Data Strategy/Compliance, M&A TA and M&A Program Managers to gain a detailed understanding of the technologies, policies, principles and architecture used by the target company within the commercial workshop charter.
These findings are then reconciled with Mastercard's own policies, principles and technologies to identify where the target company aligns well, and where they fail to meet expected criteria.
Following this assessment you will own and drive all things commercial workstream while partnering with the A&T TA and M&A Program Manager on the observations, recommendations and proposed integration approach, including financials, timeline and headcount requirements to ensure alignment from an integration standpoint.
DEVELOP TECHNOLOGY DESIGNS AND APPROACHES TO ACHIEVE SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS INTEGRATION AND REMEDIATION OF ISSUES FOUND DURING DUE DILIGENCE
You will partner with internal and external SMEs to ensure the integration meets the minimum policy criteria for any commercial activities that is set by the O&T and M&A functional leads. To achieve this you will define infrastructure, employee experience, cloud and developer strategies, standards, principles and architecture for each integration. Your track record of successfully delivering complex cross-functional projects, teams or committees will be an essential foundation to support technical integration of acquired entities.

About the team

The Solutions Architecture Team partners with our users to realize their full potential through the adoption of prescriptive solutions that drive their growth and success. We influence revenue growth across Stripe's product portfolio, and collaborate with sales, support, product management, and Stripe's executive team.

What you'll do

As a member of the team, you will have a major impact on our future success by partnering with our sales team. The Solution Architect works closely with prospects and existing Stripe users who want to grow their businesses by using Stripe's solutions. The Solution Architect is a business and technical expert who can position and articulate Stripe's value proposition and demonstrate product specific solutions during sales cycles, in order to achieve quarterly and annual sales goals for an assigned territory. You will be required to participate in a structured, collaborative training specific to the Stripe technology stack, industry, and pre-sales motions that will provide you the opportunity to build technical and soft skills and pursue a strong career as a Solution Architect.

Responsibilities

After the completion of the above mentioned structured and collaborative training your responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with sales as the technical and payments domain expert of a client-facing team, including contributing to RFI/RFP responses
  • Lead discovery meetings to understand user's business priorities, their challenges and prescribe solutions that will solve their most pressing needs
  • Understand the competitive landscape and existing architecture to assess how Stripe can be best positioned to win the Users business
  • Build relationships with key decision makers, business owners and founders rapidly
  • Demonstrate Stripe's end-to-end solutions to our future and current users to showcase Stripe's unique business value and differentiators
  • Answer product features and technical questions from customers
  • Clearly differentiate Stripe's products and services as well as provide user references to highlight Stripe's value add to their business
  • Provide feedback to product management about product enhancements that can address customer needs and provide additional value
  • Share and learn best practices and re-usable assets with other Solution Architects to enhance the quality and efficiency of the team
  • Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation
  • Support marketing events including executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Business Information Systems(BIS), Information Technology, Engineering, Math or equivalent with an ability to learn technical concepts quickly (other majors, i.e. Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc welcome to apply)
  • 1-3 years post college work experience in technical/business consulting, software engineering, sales/pre-sales
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to deliver compelling presentations and demonstrate products virtually and in person
  • Be able to work with users to solve challenging problems, and simplify/explain hard, complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Curious, self-starter who likes to be challenged and deal with ambiguity and willing to learn new technologies and business processes
  • Highly motivated and optimistic, organized and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred requirements
  • Knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API), one programming language like Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++ or the interest to learn a programming language is a bonus
  • Experience of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a bonus
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €72,000 - €108,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant's location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
