Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilled
Electrical/ Automation Engineer
to join our expanding Power Generation & Energy Systems team. Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.

Cork office

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing electrical control systems and instrumentation for power generation and energy systems.
  • Developing detailed schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.

Required

  • 3+ years' experience in electrical or automation engineering.
  • PLC Programming Experience: Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ Schneider.
  • HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).

Desired

  • Knowledge and experience in the Energy sector would be advantageous but not essential.

We are looking for a strong software engineer to build out the next generation of our software test automation infrastructure as part of our Quality Assurance Infrastructure team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting the software infrastructure that enables automated product validation. This position provides services for planning and the execution of central automated regression runs for all product departments. In addition, this candidate is responsible for maintaining and expanding the labs which host both automated and manual testing as well as conducting staging and certification of the product media during the ship-stage of a release.

Responsibilities
Financial services industry experience is preferred.

  • Work closely with the scrum master, product owner, architect, business analysts, product specialists, developers and other project team members to assist in carrying out the software quality responsibilities of the Scrum team
  • Create comprehensive test automation scripts from business requirements and functional specifications documents for product features of moderate complexity

Qualifications
Education:
B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in software testing in a process driven technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience programming with C#, SQL and shell scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash
  • Demonstrated experience implementing automation tests with Silk4Net strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and executing automation test scripts against web, native/desktop applications, APIs and batch applications.

Overview:

The Digital Systems Technical Coordinator in the Digital Capital Projects Team is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting the technical team responsible for the delivery of the Digital systems, mainly ABB DCS, PLC systems, MES, PI, I&C, ICT and CSV areas.

This role ensures the effective deployment, maintenance, integration, and optimization of digital technologies and platforms to support business operations and strategic objectives

This role supports validation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives critical to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Hybrid Model: 3 days on site(Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) mandatory required

Requirements

Role Functions:

  • System Coordination:
    Act as the central point of contact for all digital systems-related technical activities, coordinating between different workstreams under the Digital Capital Project Umbrella. This role also involves coordination of activities with the EPCMV team, as and when required.
  • Implementation & Integration:
    Plan, coordinate, and oversee the deployment and integration of digital systems, including software applications, control systems, and data platforms.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for digital systems issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Maintenance & Upgrades:
    Manage routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades of digital systems to ensure security, compliance, and functionality.
  • Documentation:
    Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and user manuals.
  • Training & User Support:
    Deliver training sessions and support materials to end-users and technical staff to maximize system utilization and efficiency.
  • Compliance & Security:
    Ensure digital systems comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Vendor Management:
    Liaise with software vendors, service providers, and contractors to coordinate support, licensing, and service agreements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to enhance digital systems capabilities, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
  • Ensure Automation compliance with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.

Knowledge, Skills &Education & Location Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working on ABB DCS, PLC systems, DeltaV, MES, PI, I&C, ICT, etc, preferably in API Manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of Project Planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS planner online.
  • Relevant Project Manager or Project Engineer experience.
  • Proven experience managing and supporting digital systems, software platforms, or industrial control systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of system integration, networking, databases, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Proficiency with relevant digital tools and platforms specific to the industry (e.g., SCADA, MES, ERP, cloud services).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, cybersecurity certifications) are a plus.
