This role is part of the APAC EUROPE Strategic Business Finance team and will be responsible for managing and coordinating expense planning, analysis, and reporting for the APAC-Europe Business Unit, including XL ICSE legal entity. These deliverables represent the contribution of the APAC Europe BU to the AXA XL Division Plan, Budget and Forecast as well as the XL ICSE reporting to the regulator (i.e. CBI), in collaboration with the Closing Team.
What You'll Be Doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?
Establishing and nurturing a strong and trusted link with the local Finance teams in the APAC & Europe BU, understanding their local environment, respective strategic, operational and financial challenges and productivity drivers to:
Monitor and analyse the expenses of the APAC Europe Business Unit.
- Manage the quarterly expense closing and accrual process, collaborating closely with local Financial Controllers.
- Manage and coordinate all budgeting and forecasting exercises, partnering with local finance and the APAC EU Leadership team.
- Consolidate and prepare quarterly analysis and commentary at the BU level for the CFO, Leadership Team, and Central Finance on performance against budget and forecasts.
Conduct productivity analysis to identify efficiency gains and areas for operational improvement.
Be an effective and trusted business partner to the APAC EU Leadership Team by providing quarterly view of their expenses, aiding in their understanding of expenses and supporting decision-making.
- Become primary point of contact and act as coordinator for the analysis of indirect expense allocation for and within the region, collaborating closely with the Allocation Team, Local Finance, and Finance Business Partners of other workstreams.
- Assist in monitoring and tracking the financial impacts of various projects, including Harmonisation and Growth Initiatives, in partnership with key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.
- Lead transformation and savings reporting, tracking progress against targets and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Act as the central point of contact for all expense-related matters both within the BU and externally regarding APAC Europe.
- Collaborate with procurement, accounts payable, and local finance to update and maintain the COUPA/SAP approval matrix for the region, to ensure that all third-party invoices are processed promptly.
- Maintain and enhance the Cost Centre structure for the region, working with the central finance, expense planning team and functional leaders in the region.

The Financial Planning & Analyst team sits within the KPMG Finance department. The finance reporting team is responsible for the production and presentation of management and financial accounting information to all stakeholders. This is a busy and growing team which currently consists of 10 people.

Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across business units.
- Financial Modelling – Build and maintain robust financial models and perform variance analysis.
- Reporting & Analysis – Develop dashboard reporting for leadership, support scenario planning, and conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

You Will Have
- A relevant third-level qualification in economics, business, finance or related discipline (professional accounting qualification is an advantage).
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, ideally within professional services and across multiple departments.
- Strong attention to detail and technical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights, proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?
In this role we do not want you just to report on the results but go step further and act as a business support on financial topics. With a wide range of stakeholders across finance and wider HILTI business we are looking to optimise business steering, via value-added reporting and analytics, and aiming to act as a consultant to our stakeholders. You will support the Finance Business Partner (FBP) activities will include:
- Be confident in financial accounting topics including month end closing, Profit & Loss Statement (P&L), Balance Sheet, statutory accounting, audit.
- Develop and drive a wide range of financial analysis focused on business trends and evaluation of performance projections and reports.
- Recognize opportunities with financial impact across the organization and propose options to exploit further, able to assess initiatives with end-to-end view, projections and reports.
- Calculation of various provision and accruals for the financial statements
- Calculation of variable compensation as input for payroll and Interact and collaborate with regional controlling/Payroll/Payments team
- Interaction with internal and external audit
Accuracy and attention to detail will be key, you will need to always challenge and stress data integrity to ensure that our results are accurate and delivered within agreed SLA's.

WHAT YOU NEED IS:
Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, business, or economics or any other relevant field.
Experience : 3-4 years previous experience in a similar role. (Financial, Consultancy or Audit)
Technical skills: Strong MS Excel Skills, Understanding of P&L statement and financial processes such as Accruals and Deferrals. SAP experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Other skills: Good communication skills with the sense of working in the team, critical thinking, analytical problem-solving skills, self-motivated, adaptable to change with dynamic personality and high performing mindset.

Reporting : CFO
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with CFO/CEO/Group to develop long-term financial strategies across AIR Ireland.
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Financial Analysis:
Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Identify trends, variances, and financial risks/opportunities.
Provide variance analysis for key project metrics, material price & usage variances, labour usage, make vs. buy variances, etc.
Provide insights and recommendations for cost optimisation and revenue enhancement.
Commercial analysis (Customer, project type) with trending and insights.
Reporting:
Prepare and present commercial & financial reports for the AIR Board team.
Responsibility of revenue recognition for month end
Develop and maintain financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Streamline and improve internal and external reporting.
Adhoc Queries, including technical accounting queries and assisting with accounting software rollout.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with departments to gather necessary data and insights.
Ensure alignment of financial goals with overall company objectives.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
Working closely with the commercial team on sales pipeline management
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in financial planning processes and systems.
Standardise and streamline reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Additional Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
Provide training and support to junior team members.
Lead special projects as required – e.g implementation of ERP system
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years+ PQE experience in a Management Accountant / Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst Role
- Accountancy qualification, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA
- Ideally trained in a large accountancy practice and have since moved into industry.
- MS Power BI knowledge would be an advantage.
